It's certainly not bad, just... it feels at times like it almost reached an uncanny valley effect with realism. Some things were just jarringly bad. Like the ending. Oh god that ending.
That being said, yeah, there were some good parts for sure. That 'dream' part in particular. I find the game is actually a lot better if you mod the hell out of it. Like Mart's Mutant Mod, which makes Glowing Ones near-invincible god-creatures which are almost impossible to kill. Really adds more of an edgy feeling.
I guess there's certainly worse games I could've gotten for 60 dollars, but I'm really regretting not buying Mount and Blade instead, and some other game. (Like Immortal Defense, which is somewhere on this big list of "games to get some day if you'd stop buying newer shit") I have poor spending habits. D:

it was 60$? i bought it for 50$ on steam. still very pricy though: it's the only 50$ game i've bought this year, besides persona 4.
actually, as i recall, my sister bought it for me as a gift, so i didn't actually buy it myself ---

Canadian pricing brings it up a bit. Actually, that's without tax. It was more like 70 in the end.
That's the most expensive game I've bought. ...ever.

most expensive for me would probably be back when snes games were regularly priced at 80$ on the high end. i've bought at least a couple of $80 snes games over the years.

well, not "still" -- my sister bought it for me the day it came out. now, as i recall, i think it was only $40 on steam, and $50 in stores, or something like that.
