Wow, I've really learned a lot from this thread  Grin... I've never really delved into this sort of topic before, and I'm glad I have now.

Up until I read the article link in the OP I hadn't really thought about the whole gender targeted games thing. It raised a few questions in my mind and they have been answered.
For me making games has always been about making what I think would be fun and learning technology. So you could say I agree with Johny and Mr. Cake etc. to a certain degree... I'm still not 100% on my point of view, but that's why I suggested exploring the issue.

I know that I wouldn't want to see "pretty pink games" and "killer macho games" disappear altogether though... My niece loves to fantasise about being a princes or a fairy... I wouldn't want to take that away from her just because it was in the form of a computer game...

Meh... I've just said absolutely nothing to contribute really... sorry. It's late here. Maybe I'll have something more useful to say tomorrow.

Does she like The Forest, Michael?
Sure, but not as much as she likes Donkey Konga 2 or Kessen II.  Wink
(or Soul Calibur for beating her dad)
