Terry - if people donate/preorder now, do they still get access to the beta that you recently sent out?
I wanted to ask the same thing because I'm a bit short on money now and plan on donating at a later date. So can you buy yourself into the beta at any time?

I'll post about this game sometime this week over on PTT. I'll tell them the beta is up, and how folks can grab it for the small donation fee. Best of luck with this Terry, as you are good people.  Gentleman

Surprisingly enough, I got 20 Euros today from someone who apparently still owed them to me (which I had forgotten of course  :D), 13 (which equals $20) of which I'll immediately put to good use and donate.

Can't wait to play the beta.

Awesome! Already played a bit, enjoyed it. Will play more later this evening (it's 7PM where I live).

Also, just for the record, I'm not Claudia Sinclair, that's my mom. I still don't have my own credit card.  :D  Embarrassed

VVVVVV is totally worth whatever price Terry's going to charge for it.

I was blown away. This has smart and elegant design, and the gravity-flip mechanic is a refreshing twist on the platformer model. I highly advise -- to the point of almost-demanding -- that you play this.

We already know the price.  V is 5, 6 of them, so obviously it's going to be $19,203.23.

This game is a Puzztroidvania.  :D

Also, I can only agree with what TheDustin says: If you have at least a little love for platformers (and you know you do!), do yourself a favor and play the beta.

The VVVVVV beta was leaked on 4chan. Cry

I only just discovered it after noticing a big traffic spike and seeing the referrals. I've taken it down. I'm still quite shaken up Sad

that sucks. i wonder what kind of person would like your games and frequent 4chan? it just seems like a stab to the gut to donate to someone and then pass on the secret download.

looking forward to the final release! (i don't have beta access, just the basic preorder)

Shocked  Screamy Cry
Now that sure is unexpected. And sad.

I don't know if it's worth it (probably not), but you could cook up some sort of system that registers the IPs of the people who have donated and only lets them on the site. I don't really know about all that web-related jazz, so I have no idea how easy it would be to implement....

Or talk to Farbs and let him help you implement his system.

What kind of system does Farbs use? I wasn't a beta tester for Captain Forever.

Don't let it get you down. Just think of it as proof that your game is awesome enough for both piracy AND early leakage.

Yeah a short burst of players and now being denied?  Maybe a few of them will remember it and buy it when the time comes.

That'd be a nice outcome to this mess.  Concerned

I'd write a devlog about my current game, but I'm too busy making it.

but i'd rather an option for download. i might have bought the captain forever series if it weren't for web-only access.
