yeah, i'm not saying everyone is lazy like me, just a lot of people (that's why my bet was less than half). i still plan to buy everything i pirated one day, when i have the money, but chances are that day will never come. although i haven't pirated very much -- just a lot of snes and nes roms, mainly, and even if i bought them the devs wouldn't get paid for it, just people who are selling them on ebay. still doesn't make it any better though.

Since a lot of the earlier developers probably aren't getting paid for their game anymore, the best thing would be to look up every person in the credits of every game and send each of them money.

exactly what I'm suggesting, miyamoto was just an example.
10 cents per person or something.
or send it to the persons responsible for the aspects you like best about the game

I still think it's ethically OK to pirate old, obscure games and not send anyone money (or at least I don't feel bad about it). I also think collector's value has nothing to do with the real "worth" of a game.

I am mostly just trying not to think about this right now. The NewGrounds thing was kind of a shock

Just donated my $10 pre-order. Hope I'm not too late, let me know though, I'll add the other $5 on.
