Character sprite generator progress:

It's giving me a headache figuring out how to generate other directions, but I WILL MANAGE EVENTUALLY.

Also I like gbc zelda games.

Now for the hardest bit, then I'll be done.

And theres no way I'm going to try and get it to generate animations other than walking before this competition ends D:

Yay, now to gen a ton of random sprites.

Now everyone can make zelda ripoff games with ease!

Actually, are there any zeldaish tilesets?

EDIT:

I could definately work on this a bit more but there's not enough time :/

Um, the procedural stuff is super fun - you should make a full app that lets you put helmets, robes, clothing colors, different skin colors, eye colors, weapons, hair etc! (after the comp) Smiley

I just registered on TIGSource specifically to say your tileset/sprites are freaking amazing. Its so distinctive and vibrant.

If I ever decide to make a game in this style, I would love to use some of these bad boys. Just outstanding work!

I removed the 2px gaps in the shmup sets and the gates and stuff. You can click the images to get the version with the gaps removed.

Decided to see how small characters would work.

I really nood to work on making the side hair fit more with the front and back, but i guess that will be after the competition ):

EDIT:

Also more ships:

I'm basically making as much random stuff as possible here, since theres not much time to make anything else :p

edit:

Not sure what these would be used before; the closed versions could be weird artifact things I guess. some of the the open versions could be weird rpg monster sprites or you could use them together as a dungeon entrance? the entrances are probably too small on most of them though.

Cabbage People Vs The Clam Monsters?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw a few cabbages and clams!

Great work with the generator though!  There's definitely enough here to make a game with a huge cast.

Alien goblinmajigs

I'll really have to work on making some of the side sprites match up more somehow Huh?

Feel free to edit the side sprites to make the hair fit more.

edit: Or just use the up/down sprites :p
