Updated the walk to 6 frames instead of 4, since everything I'm doing here seems to be 6 frames for some reason. to

If someone could add some yelping noises to go with these potentially forthcoming hurt animations... that would be pretty great.

Hello this is Pencerkoff
Yeah forget the hurt/death animations. You need more cute puppy animations.
- Cocking the head to one side as though interested
- Licking something
- Sniffing the ground while walking
- Rolling over
- Running animation while holding a ball in it's mouth

We need those, but first death and hurt animations.

Meh. Death of the player character is easy; just follow the lead of classic Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, there's no attack or roll animations yet. ;-)
These sprites are pretty much amazing, by the way.

We need a crawling animation, to sneak into tight spaces. Remember my dog could crawl into the tightest holes somehow.

Your stuff are my favourites so far (just like in the Commonplace compo). I put the dog into a small Flixel-game. I made it so that the dog changes from walking to cantering, once it picks up speed. It looks amazing. I'm really hoping for more of this!
I would really like a break-animation. If you're cantering at full speed, it would feel great to use a four-feet-break to come to a complete stop fast.
Keep it up!
Edit: Oh, I just noticed that the tongue is out in every frame, except in the jumping animation. It would make sense to pull in your tongue when jumping. But it looks a bit off when put together with a fast cantering.

Heh, thanks! I hope I get to see this guy in action after all this... And I was actually wondering if I should have kept the tongue out during the jump... does it look too strange? Anyway, here's two more animations: getting knocked down (it's supposed to be a sort of "death" animation), and getting back up (if you don't want him dying). I'm not sure how useful it'll really be as a death animation, 'cause he kinda gets thrown into the air... but we'll see. I'll try to get a damaged and attacking animation soonish, and see if I can tackle breaking, and other doggy-like actions.

Loving your work, Logan. Back in the From a Primordial Eggs (and Nothing - glad to see it on the IGF roll by th way) times I was totally thinking that its' some kind of skeletal based stuff. Spectacular and not just a little bit unique.

Ok, got a few bark files up. I can edit them smaller if needed, and always add more. I have a set of 5 different barks and one whimper put through various reverb effects to give us: Dry (no effect) barks Distant barks Closer barks Echo-y (long) barks Echo-y (High-pitched) barks Robboty barks Files available hereHope this helps. /cheaps
