Hey Crew,
This is the thread about my 3rd year final project.
SMITE!
It began life 2 years ago as a board game. We were trying to make a board game that mixed the villager insanity of Black and White with the fun of casting spells from Magic the Gathering. We spent about 3 months of our spare time developing it. It takes place on a hex board with the player each taking a corner. The game ends when the cards run out, every player has to cast a spell, and all the spells cost nothing to cast. That was just a group of 4 of us, we always figured that we would make it into a full video game.
2 years later we got that chance, we recruited 6 more of our classmates with various skills and had a good go at it. It's pretty playable, I would say that its late alpha, you can get through a game without crashes. Its pretty fun as it is. I hope to improve it more before getting it out on Xbox LIVE Indie Games. Ideally I would like to improve the gameplay with more interaction between players.
