This is probably the way it's supposed to work.

Hahaha! I made the jump finally! Well, I changed the compatibility mode to XP though. But still, :D
Ok. I won. I feel accomplished in life.

Looking at the gif/video, I think it's a bug with the height. My guy can jump as high as this: Can someone else (who's able to actually play) post a comparison shot from their game?

Okay, Morden's gif clearly shows that the game isn't working the same for everyone. Here's one with a higher number of frames. The speed of the gif animation may depend on the browser. For me, the gif animates closer to the original speed in Irfan View but it doesn't in Chrome. But again, this shows that the jump can be cleared both ways without a problem.

I guess some people are having problems with the high-gravity jumping? It clicked right away for me. That alone made it worth the playthrough, imo.

yeah, it's definitely an interesting jumping physics going on, i like how you can't jump the equivalent of a skyscraper's height, like in most platformers

Hahaha awesome.
Theres an alternate ending guys... I got it...
The jump gravity got lighter when I put on windows XP SP2 compatibility, and I could jump over the sword. I wonder if the different gravity is a bug and if its just supposed to be a different ending if you think of jumping over the sword or if its really that the game is supposed to be different depending on the windows you use.

Yeah I checked, setting my compatibility mode back Off reverts the jumping to a lower one that makes the games first gap harder. (Its still possible to jump though, maybe theres another mode that actually makes it impossible)
Also windows 98 compatibility mode makes the jump so short its impossible to clear the first gap so far

Different playthroughs have had the baddies move up and down at different speeds. And not only that, the text has changed from abstract to more storylike as well. It used to start with "The fall of man" but now says "Dungeon" and continues to be different throughout the game. The area where you go back and forth had "Who" and "I am". Now it says "It wasn't" "Me" and "It was" I didn't save the game on my hard drive the first time I played through it, when I downloaded it again the text was different. Hoho!

No matter what I do, the game runs the same and I never get the "Dungeon, Press Z to Jump, Pussy! " version. Always the storylike text..

I've checked all possible compatibility modes and each time the game runs exactly the same. There is absolutely no difference between various modes and running the game without them. I'm running it on a Windows XP SP3, by the way.

its probably some stupid random attribute that changes depending on time of day / time played / podunkian's menstrual cycle / who cares, which sets the screen names, and entities that kill you.
