The Patrick Alexander
Stuff-stravaganza

Hello! It is me! If you use my things, please credit Patrick Alexander and point people to chickennation.com. Thank you!

MUSIC

Here are five looping tunes with a cute, videogamey flavour. They feature melody and also harmony. These tunes all have similar instrumentation, and a unified 'feel', so that you may create a game with a coherent soundtrack, if you're so inclined.

Cooperation

Everything Fits Together

Mr Fun

Wandering and Wondering

Where are we?

And to go with those tunes, here are two short, musical stings -- one positive, one negative:

Death

VICTOLY!

That's all for now. But I will be back later with some other, not-music stuff! And maybe even some more music if I have the time and the urge.

Please use my tunes wonderfully!

EXCLAMATIONS

Bold exclamations/announcements to give your game AUTHORITY. Inspired by the classic videogames, Warriors with Swords and Battle Fighter 3000 -- but of course, I would be pleased to find these exclamations used in unusual and unexpected ways! Or perfectly normal ways too! Whatever, man, jeez.

Feel free to cut these exclamations up and rearrange the words to suit your purposes! And you can put effects on them if you like -- I expect that would be allowed.

Downloads:

* An MP3 of all the exclamations together, for ease of previewin'.
* Exclamations in WAV format, zipped.
* Exclamations in MP3 format, zipped.

I listened to these while I went to sleep last night. They gave me excellent dreams!

These tracks really stir my imagination right up, so much it spills over the edge and I have to get a cloth. But I just sipped it off the table instead.

Can't -wait- to see games with this music in them. More, Patrick, MORE!

I have updated the first post with BOLD EXCLAMATIONS to give your game HEAVY BALLS and A SENSE OF IMPORT AND DESTINY and STUFF LIKE THAT.

And I am just sort of sitting here hoping that more people have listened to my tunes than have posted in the thread to say so. Concerned

I joined just to say i listened to them. Small snazzy tunes are as snazzy as this smilie with a top hat and a monocle.  Gentleman And, that's pretty freakin' snazzy.

What did you make the songs with btw?

Thanks, folks, for the words!

Sound Club -- an old, very simple but fun program that makes what are more or less MODs. (In fact there is an export-as-MOD option, but it never works for me.) It's not a tracker, though, thank god -- it uses a piano roll.

I think I'm gonna have to work "The Sword of Testicles" into my game somehow.

Just wanted to let you know I used your awesome "Death" tune as the "bad end" in my game (you're credited in the opening game title) - http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=10372.0

I couldn't find a way to use the voice announcements that made sense with the game, but they were pretty hilarious to listen to. Smiley

I used "Cooperation" in one of my levels, and after desperately scrabbling around for excuses to add more of your vocal stuff, I eventually settled for just "Banana!", "Kumquat!" and "Oh, Fuckberries!"...

http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=9613.0

If a contest like this comes up again, I'm totally going to listen to the audio assets before looking at the graphics ones for my initial inspirado, 'cause if I'd heard your stuff early enough I would have built a whole game just as an excuse to use more of it Smiley

Thankin' you kindly  Gentleman

So you did! And like I said already, I love your game; it's exactly the sort of game I'd like to make. Beer!

That's kind of what I was hoping would happen. Smiley Oh well! Thanks for using some of it, and thanks for the compliment! Gonna go check out your game now.

Anyone who digs my drawings/music/silly voices/whatever is welcome to contact me re: any future game projects! I'm mostly busy with my comics and whatnot, but I really do want to maek gam.  Hand Thumbs Up Left Grin Hand Thumbs Up Right
