This is a thread for voting on characters, hidden-characters and bosses for the Indie Brawl game.

Rules:
Everyone has three votes for whatever characters they feel would be best for Indie Brawl per subject. You may also make your own suggestions and vote on them. Voting ends at midnight December 12th (CST).

Not really voting here, but here's my thoughts:

I'm thinking Guy Balding can be our kind of 'Mario'. Maybe he needs a brother or something... or a HOT sister... Gal Balding (although that sounds a bit )

Quote and Curly are kinda like the peeps from Starfox in a way, they have a range of weapons, hopefully both chooseable as well as they are slightly different. Pickups could include: the Bubble gun (i.e. generally useless unless you throw it)! the Polar Star, but not any more, it'd get too ridiculous. But Ballos as a summon would be cool (I'm not sure about having bosses, I'm thinking multiplayer would be hard work enough).

Eets could be a cool one, like Kirby, eating certain players/things doesn't necessarily change him into them, but make him angry/excited/etc... depending on what the character/object is like (just thought about an Eets level as well, very awesome). Maybe paired up with Gish as an alternate, similar character.

Trilby is our sneaky character, dash moves and he's got his grolly and all that for attacks. Similarly, Juni wouldn't be utterly defenseless with her brolly, a bit like a Peach character, very floaty but agile.

Naija/Noitu Love can be our Link/Samus characters, capable of custom moves definable as coming from their games (i.e. Beast form/mutate) and are more technical to use than the others. Someone to learn properly rather than pick up and button mash.

N and (whatever the Ninjukin guy is called) are your speedy characters, very annoying if used right as they are hard to catch.

I keep seeing Gomez as some apparently harmless character like the kid from Earthbound, but instead of a baseball bat he has this Doomerang.

Hmm, we're missing some real beefy characters in the vein of Donkey Kong and Bowser.

Okay, so I'm basically equating all this to SSBM, but I thought that was the original idea. And besides, SSBM is freakin awesome.

Jimbob does seem to have a point about the lack of power-hitters, damage-takers. Perhaps the Tekkyuuman man or Nikujin dude? Mr. Robot? I imagine the Sexy hiker would have high attack, low defense...

Btw; i pretty much have given up on trying to make a game by myself...im not capable of creating an engine...and i have no time to learn how to from scratch, so i guess i should stick to something like this that i already know how to do it.

Let's save character types and gameplay until we know what kind of gameplay we're going to work towards and what characters we're going to use. Otherwise it gets really confusing trying to keep track of everything.

Its sort of a smash bros for the pc in 2D...the adventure mode (with multiplayer) certainly seems like something that should be fun to implement in Indie Brawl.

Those are really recognizable characters, and i think that the way to go; Like "N", "Akuji", "Knytt", etc...obscure not instantly recognizable prolly not the way for main characters, but i endorse the "strikers" option.

I also know we are dealing with mostly indie characters...but some of those have passed to the mayor leagues with publishers (i think)and such..and i dunno whats the legal status of those characters if they are to be included.
Maybe they dont belong to their original authors anymore? Like Alien Homonid for example?
Like i said, i have no idea of their status...but it might be good to directly contact their creators, tho, thats probably something already planned.

Im taking more requests for sprites by the way, in case someone is interested in seeing the characters redrawn
