We're going to use Flixel in Flash, like all the cool kids do.

To be honest, I don't think so. The size of the SWF would become ridiculous.

Today I spent some time setting up the barebone of the code, but also took Fifth's doggy and made him into a strip fit for Flixel use: Decided to post here just in case someone else may find this useful. Some frames that were identical between different animations were cut off to save a bit of space.

Platforming TestI'd love it if you guys let me know what you think of it so far. Jump with X You can wall-jump That's about all you can do right now. Just want input on if you guys like the feel of it so far.

this is turning out pretty sweet.
physics seem smooth and the wall jump works well.

Cooool. The wall-jumping on the top left of the level is dodgy. The bit where the gap is 1 block wide. You always face right, which means it can't tell which wall you're jumping off of, it always just makes you jump off the left wall and face right.
Maybe speed up the falling a little bit, but I'm not entirely sure. It feels like you're gliding a bit much at times. You might just want to add a terminal velocity system. You start falling at the speed you fall at now, but speed up after more falling until you get to the maximum fall speed.
Looooking very good, don't have any other suggestions. So yeah, this has made me want to make a game where there is no ground, only vertical walls. A game where you can only wall-jump.

Lookin' good so far. The running is nice and smooth, and I especially like the camera movement. Looking forward to more features! I didn't know Melly could actually code. I thought he just pretended, like me...

Great start! I love how I can quickly zoom up the little section on the left by wall jumping.

Cool! The controls are nice and forgiving, which I like; normally I find walljumping a pain in the arse, but with this I was walljumping like a mofo.
It all looks a bit small, though. Have you thought about upscaling everything by x2?
Oh, and may I suggest
for the title?

While that is a fantastic name (and video) I don't think it'll fit with the full scale of the game as we plan it.

Did a few minor tweaks, like adding variable jump height. nothing too notable. Same link as before for those that wanna try it. Now, time to move onto some gameplay MEAT. Also should add some damn sounds. EDIT:

Wow, looks great! This feels really good, and is a lot of fun to play with. Great job getting all of those animation frames in there! It feels and looks really natural!
