That was a Russian attempt to do "Flashback" again and I think it was a success. Despite what the credits say the game was developed by just 2 people - one programmer/artist and another artist (That was in the interview they did during the development of their next game "Tunguska" - here's its mobygames page

The game is also available to download from The Underdogs (

Also this duo had a dos game developed called "Sobor". It's a weird fighting-team-rpg hybrid that's quite hard to play, here are some screenshots:
