Hi! I'm Adrian, and this is my first time here as a registered user.
I just released my very first game and you know... I would like your feedback.
The game is called Whir, it's an abstract puzzle with procedurally generated levels. It was made in 11 days in Autoit, a general scripting language.

What sort of feedback am I looking for?
I'm interested mostly in the game's weak parts and of course I would like to know if this game makes you want to keep playing it. Having in mind that there are 3000 possible levels it should have high replayability, but that could be easily overruled by bad game mechanics.

Download it from http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/puzzle/whir/1177/

EDIT: Update: Based on your feedback I tweaked Whir here and there and added instructions. Thx!
...and a screenshot:

Thank you!

bump
...what do I have to do to get a bit of feedback?
Is the screenshot so unapplealing? Is the description boring?

Probably shouldn't have told people it was your first game.

EDIT: Also, installers for small games are annoying.

EDIT2: I've never been a big fan of "drop all the tiles" or "touch all the tiles" puzzles, so I'm probably not the best person to ask.  The controls feel kind of stiff and not very fluid.  I'm not sure what the point of the main map area is, either.  I press space anywhere and I apparently go to a new level?  A readme or a tutorial or a help section would have been nice.

Nice work, Adrian. Smiley

I was really. . . kinda confused, playing it. Some special tiles teleport you when you press space, some don't, what am I doing? oh look something is changing... I really could've used a helpfile.

I think turn-based games are really prime for not forcing fullscreen.

I was impressed by the procedural generation, the rules seemed very well thought out and made increasingly complex and possible levels for the few levels I played. I didn't want to keep playing it because I didn't understand what was going on. I found it nearly impossible to tell background art apart from parts of the level - even just a legend would've been nice, or a popup hint when engaging a new mechanic.

Despite my whinging about a lack of information, I'm not sure how long I would keep playing it, maybe a little more? Procedural content is pretty nifty, but doesn't always lend itself to an overarching goal. Nice for a coffee break, though. Like The North, I'm probably not your target audience, but I think installers are pretty great.

Hmmm, I'll give it a go. Haven't Fed-Back in a while.

But, uh, first, I should play it!

Thank you for your feedback. I have just updated Whir. Here's a list of what's new:
+ added instructions
+ added actual numbers to levels in the Level Select screen
+ you can return to the Main Menu from the Level Select screen
+ the game now "runs in its own window"
+ the game now comes as a zip archive

EDIT: The fullscreen on/off button is still missing because it's very hard to implement on my current engine.

You're obviously using a cheap av.
"It was made in 11 days in Autoit, a general scripting language." (see first post)
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoIt if you don't believe me.

Obviously his antivirus doesn't like something that potentially could have the ability to move the mouse, send keystrokes, etc. That, IMO, is pathetic still, because any program could do that.

I'm finding this difficult to get into - I like the presentation, but I'm  having trouble thinking logically about the levels once they go above a certain complexity.

Have many people finished it?

I think it's very cool you did it in Autoit : P
