I also want to commend you for making this browser based with no downloadable. The moment you introduce some content, I'm forseeing this generating a following.
-SirNiko
Thank you SirNiko. It's sad but true now that almost anything besides instant drop-in is a source of friction for players. I mean, in a compo, downloads are cool and all, but even I barely have the attention span or time anymore to download something, unpack it, install it, run it, and so on. I just want to click and play...

Huh. When I click the depart button, I get this: SYS > Welcome to Hubris Quest Online this is Build 00219 NET > Connecting to localhost:4430 NET > Error talking to server. Reload the page and try again.

Healy, what browser + OS?
Did you try force reloading the page?

Uh, well, for the first question, Windows Vista and Firefox, respectively, and I'm not sure what you mean by force reloading, but I clicked the browser's refresh button.

Healy, I fixed the issue. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. FYI after you login, nothing really happens. You just get a player count and time barking. Hopefully, very soon I'll be changing that.

Pretty sweet. Worked for me (if you needed any more confirmation, ha), and when I connected it said there were a total of 2 players online.

So when can we expect to be able to walk around?

Works fine for me.
I'm intrigued by the very real possibility that you might pull this off.

For me character selection worked fine. The next screen said something had gone wrong and I should refresh, the first time, but worked fine the second time.

UPDATE: There's a world, but it's an awfully grassy place. There are characters, but they are very lonely. Getting closer!! I'm hoping and praying I can stay awake tonight long enough to get a little box people can run around in by tomorrow! And now that I found out that there are HATS in Oryx's graphics, I'm more determined than ever to finish! PS: This build is NOT live yet guys.

I'm wondering if I should run this at 4x scaling, instead of 3x, which I'm at right now. The sprites look better at 4x, but I think the text is going to be way too humungo at that level, and this game is going to need a fair amount of text on the screen. Unfortunately I can't scale them independently; I'm not willing to rewrite that much of Flixel right now. Any opinions?
