Just had a quick browse of the Part 2 threads.

ASSEMBLEE PART 2 SHOULD NEVER END. NEVER EVER.

This is amazing.

I'm just gonna keep going with these mockups ... I'm having too much fun.

My children are yours.
That's really nice of you, but I'll probably just re-gift them at Christmas.

hi there !

While i was reading the forum, i came up with an little game idea, here's the thing:
what do you think about  a Space Invader remake where oryx's asset would be the INVADERS  Evil attacking the Earth-ssemblee !
oryx tilesets and sprite sheet would be scrolling down and in order to complete the game the player would have to destroy ALL
the sprites !!

[incredible mock-up of part 1 assets playing cards]

Shocked

This should be the unofficial official promotional image for Assemblee, with a mouseover version that points to each asset and identifies its author. Those who didn't follow part 1 may not realize how many disparate images were put together there (there are playing cards somewhere!?). That is an incredible composite.

(there are playing cards somewhere!?)

I don't think so, no - it looks like they've been assembled (hah!) from a pixel font and the mediaeval silhouette people and some other bits.

That would be pretty clever, I don't think I am that clever. I'm almost that clever ... for example ... observe how I made the rug

I think I like this meta game of - "Who made the assets?"

Are we required to release the source code of the game/engine?

YES!!!! Corny Laugh

I just got my computer fixed. I'll maybe have to put off learning flixel and churn out something with Game Maker. Lips Sealed

I have... An idea!!! It's a roguelike using Sir Oryx's sprites. No, it isn't EXACTLY a roguelike. It has the gameplay of a roguelike, but no procedural generation. This will sacrifice replayability, while adding opportunities for more interesting encounters.
Also, it will have a time-based movement system. Each time you move, it counts about one second. You move and the enemy moves. I know, nothing new, but I'm planning on extending into more than just combat/movement.
For example, you could place a bomb with a three second fuse, and you would have three moves before it explodes. Or, if you can hold your breath for ten seconds, then when you go underwater, you have ten moves to surface.

Basically:
Roguelike lacking procedural generation with a unique time-based movement mechanic.

I probably won't finish it. On the off chance I do, I'll make a thread THEN, not now. Don't want to let anyone down.

@Pencerkoff : Render your game to a texture 1/8th the original resolution, for each pixel divide the RGB value by 32 or 64, and pull the matching sprite from a palette array using those indices Gentleman

Hello this is Pencerkoff

No, there were a few, but Oryx pulled a highlander and cut off their heads and took their power.
