Yesssssssss!
Will edit with my thoughts.

Edit: The enemy AI is much improved. I actually died. More than once. I have to move constantly, or else I'll get sprayed with bullets.

And I'm loving it.

This doesn't open any new areas

This is a lie. The witch's haus and one house (not haus) in Dog City are available. You can acquire the magnet too. Powerful! I feel like you should have to do something to EARN that magnet, though. Kill a boss or solve a puzzle or something. Anyways.

The enemy AI difficulty is absolutely perfect for a first level, I think. I didn't take a hit until the very end with the jumping enemies. The monster generators are awesome too. Protip: monster generators don't harm Mr. Kitty, so running through them is safe!

All in all, GREAT update. Looking forward to seeing a new level added to this.

Sad For some reason Game Maker doesn't like Nvidia cards. I don't know any way around it, but in the next version I'll try and add an option to turn off surfaces (which might help).

Wahaha! This is pretty sweet. I really like the way the shooting was implemented.

I also see you've used my snobby redhead girl.  Grin

Fun game. Hand Any KeySmiley  I like it.  Probably the most consistently styled game i've played on this compo yet.

I really enjoyed the game! It's sad that it's so short.

If you brush up against an angled wall sometimes you'll get a weird speed boost.

The final boss is pretty easy if you have a full complement of missiles to fire.

You don't get anything for paying off the gun guy? I didn't see a reward.

When you return the macguffin to dog city, the text you get has two spelling errors. Those should be easy to spot and fix.

I would encourage you to add on to this game, possibly by making a sequel with more depth. It's really very enjoyable! I especially liked the missile towers in the final cave, and their inexplicable burst of explosives if you got in their line of sight.

Congratulations on the finished entry!

I also got the no alpha, but this game is still the one where I had the most fun (and I've played all of them now).

The shooting just feels so sweet and enemies are varied (curse you jumping and shooting dude Apoplectic)!

Good job!   Hand Clap

And I thought this was addicting before there was a plot...

Also, Sgt. Stinkholm is a bastard.

Really liked this one. The gameplay feels nice and it's fun to explore, shoot everything in sight and loot their bodies like the psychopaths we are. Durr...?

I also like your use of graphics and sounds. Some nice musical selection there.

I can give two criticisms. One, the muchroom enemy is far too annoying to kill, and breaks the flow of the game. Second, the final boss becomes too easy with all the missiles you have by then. The first boss was far more challenging.

Either way it's a pretty nice effort. SmileyHand Thumbs Up Right

I had transparency problems, and it sounds like I'm not the only one.

I still thought it was a fun game though.  My favorite part was the line about finding an old save point in a dumpster (and it still works!).

This game looks awesome.

Sadly, I have transparency trobules. It seems like I'm not the only one. This is how the game looks for me. I tried changing scaling and window mode but it didn't have any effect.

I'm using the newest MacBook Pro. I'm running the game in Windows 7 64bit on Bootcamp. Newest drivers and everything.  Cry

It seems to be a Game Maker issue, so a fix is doubtful to happen so soon, especially with the policy behind GM updates being as it is.

Liked: It all has a nice coherent style. Shooting stuff is very satisfying.

Disliked: The difficulty curve is a bit sharp. As soon as you get your gun then the shooting enemies turn up before you are used to using it. The music was very annoying after a while.

Conclusion: I liked this enough that I may come back to it and try to complete it.

Very nice.
It's quite satisfying just to shoot stuff, and the areas are really well-built (I liked your use of the assets in the dog city and the dump).  And I really liked the enemies, even the annoying mushroom and the spinning eye that freaked me out the first time it saw me.  I'll agree with the last boss being too easy with all those missiles, though.
