My thought process in using the word 'procedural' was the same as yours, except I think for people who can't identify with the term they'll go "ooh, what's that?", or it'll at least spark their curiosity in a way to have them interested just a bit more.

Good luck with the name. Coffee

Also, even though you had a one-month timeframe planned, and you are indeed now overtime, don't rush things. Taking just an extra few days to polish, tweak, and improve more on top of the 'bare-bones' you just want to get structurally decent can make a whole world, nigh a universe of difference.

Yeah, that's true. Having everything feel polished can make a good game great.

I'll try not to cut corners on balance. I think the thing with me is design and balance are my most "unsure" attributes, while programming and art are my stronger suits, so it's a lot less mentally taxing on me to confront code or art than it is to design and balance. Even though I'm in overtime, I won't just kick the game out the door when the code/art is done to an acceptable level. I plan to put the game through its paces in playtest on the XNA site and maybe some local playtests with friends to make sure that what's there is good.

I'm ever so tempted to go with the name Mega Monster Mazes of Medieval Madness. Mostly because of the acronym being Mmmmm Smiley

I keep getting later and later! but day 31 is up!

Episode 32 is up, mostly gfx for the equipment screen, which is clearly much nicer looking now.

Hey, I just wanted to pop in and say hi, since I've been watching and enjoying your videos. What's the status with the audio design? I've been tackling this in my own game after putting it off for ages, and I'm curious to see how others approach the problem.

Box art.. slowly killing me... Day 34 is up... even though the thread about it may live on this is my run through of the boxes so far. Mostly commentary if you've already seen the boxes in the other thread from the Art section Smiley

trymaj: Thanks! Audio is still and sadly up in the air. No music still, and all my sound effects are from SFXR. I had a guy a while ago who was offering to do music and sound for the game, but unfortunately (well, fortunate for him, unfortunate for me) he got a new job for a game company and had to move, becoming much too busy to work on my music/sound in his off time.

Did you also shorten the name itself? Or only for the box cover? Is it still called MMMMM, or is it now MMM?

Btw, love the box cover you chose ^^

It's being shortened to MMM. I didn't like the Medieval and Maze aspects anyway Wink

Day 35 is up! New title menu!

Sure why not? I don't think I'm the first to make an in-game engine menu anyway. Smiley

I find it tiring to do devlog updates at times, so I'm really impress with the effort! Btw, I like the thick black lines you're using, but no too sure about the shiny icons.

Pfft, nothing impressive to show (not that that's stopped me before) but I had something I felt like ranting about. Hooray for iPad and price point rants!
