Fair enough, but when it comes down to it, pixels are a grid anyway. 8x8 tiles are pretty small compared to your actor, and if you had sloped tiles, I think you'd be able to achieve a very similar effect.

Yes, this exactly. Remember that "grid" does not necessarily mean blocky.
A grid is just an efficient, logical way to arrange things.

Looks amazing! Have you been just designing the game for 2 years and no coding has been done yet?

Making assets and mockups is a lot of fun but without a programmer I need to focus my time on other things that feed me.  I still keep my ear to the ground.  Hopefully some day the right opportunities will align to resurrect the project.

I really hope you can find somebody who is competent enough and dedicated enough to work with you to bring this to fruition one day. Be careful who you choose to work with, but if you do find somebody someday, it will be really exciting to see this become real. I think it will happen.  Beer!

Pixel work and the concept of this is absolutely brilliant.

So I know I'm fairly new to the forums and don't have anything to show but I want to say that if you haven't found someone in like 6 months or so give me a shout man.

Not saying I can for sure. I need to get shit sorted out and not entirely sure how long its going to take. So I wouldn't like to commit to anything just yet but its an option if nothing else comes up. If it wasn't for that I'd be all over this...  Right now Smiley.

edit: Actually once I'm able too I might start putting together the procedural terrain system that you had some mock ups of back on page 10 i think it was, aswell as the previous page. Getting ahead of myself here but it should be pretty fun.

Is there anything in particular you think I should be considering with the terrain? I will go back over what you've already posted before I start on it but just thought I'd ask first if there's anything specific.

Also you don't mind if i use some of the sprites from the engine build you had up?. Just for the sense of scale you mentioned so I can get it right.

Feel free to use any of my art provided it isn't released commercially and I'm credited.

No-no. I wasn't meaning I was going to use your art for anything commercial.

I was talking about for putting together the terrain system you have in mind for The Salvage. I was only looking for the sprite to get the same sense of scale you posted back in one of your mock ups here
