This worked okay in wine on osx for me (albeing not fullscreen).  It was super-confusing for a bit...but good : )

Just played it there. Really loved the slow discovery of how everything works!

Can't honestly say I discovered exactly how it works but I muddled through..

Absolutely loved the soundtrack - which I guess is procedural? - and the gentle pulsing rhythm to the visuals.

Couldn't figure out exactly what to do with the Subconscious - just like in real life.

It's working in Linux with wine, and um ... I guess the pink things
that move around should be guided to each section of the brain.

So far I did get them to the "soul" and a message appeared.
I tried to get them to that lonely corner of memory ... "psi"
but failed. I think there's something hidden there ...  Undecided

Interesting concept!

I like this, however I can't get through the memory part to get to psi. Huh?

I got it to Psi by switching memory around and guiding an individual particle to it. A triangle came out and (I think) Beauty and Soul lit up. I think I got particles to every part of the brain, but I didn't get any success state. Do they have to all have particles in at the same time?

Great game, btw. Haunting soundtrack. I didn't always know what was happening. For example I assume you explode because you venture into an un-particled part of the brain? And I still don't know why Libido kept sending wavy beams at me Shocked

Really cool game! Thanks a lot!

I have the same problem as others here do: I can't seem to get the neurons to keep flowing to the PSI part. When I backtracked the signals, I couldn't seem to find any possible way to do it, except staying in memory and keep flipping.

It seemed like a nice puzzle if there was only one way to do it. Is there a certain way to win the game, if you really figure everything out?

Beautiful game; thank you.

To those struggling to finish the game (or work out whether it can be finished: yes, there is a way to each the end-screen:

SPOILER FOLLOWS

The key is not Psi, but Soul. You need to route the neuronal firing through Soul into the other areas of the brain: when this happens, that area of the brain will start glowing. You need to light up all the areas in this way; fortunately, they stay lit even if the neuronal firing is no longer routed through them, so once you've the knack it's not too hard.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to keep the neuronal firing routed through Psi, and the Cerebellum functions like Langton's Ant and so is literally chaotic.

This game is amazing! Congratulations man!
All the implications made through the dynamics of the game are exquisite.
Besides the game, I'm glad you finally got into a real programming language Smiley

I found out that neurons on the subconsios try to get back out, but they tend do avoid red spots (where other neurons passed a short time before)
I guess you can get past the subconsious with an "enlightened" neuron orchestrating others to cover all possible areas so that the enlightened never returns.
But I couldn't make it!

Just a bit of feedback:
The enlightment of brain parts is really painful to the eye (even if it pulsates), it makes it really hard to keep track of where neurons end up, and I have to force my sight a lot.
When they're lit it's impossible to keep track. Is this intentional for some reason?

Best of luck with the game, it's really polished, gfx, sfx and music are awesome.

Is the "I dream" screen an ending?
I didn't propagate soul to all of the sections, which I'm reasonably sure is possible, so I'm not sure if I've seen as much of the game as I could have.

This is just about the most interesting thing I've played in quite some time. Thank you for making it

Neat game with a surprising amount of discovery from each part of the brain to the next; there's just enough context to keep it interesting, and the new gameplay mechanics from area to area make me want to keep searching.  I had fun playing it, and got as far as firing through SOUL and getting the dots to PSI a few times which just scrambled the memory part of the brain, making navigation even harder.  After that I needed to stop, as the visual effects were starting to strain my eyes.

I managed to get a continuous stream through memory once. Then it scrambled and I lost it.

It took me 5 minutes to get the hang of the basic mechanics.
I then spend 10-15 minutes figuring out what the actual goal was, or at least what got me some progress, (so the soul bit). Then my computer came to a crawl as I started guiding the neurons around the rest of the brain, I did finally beat it, but it took me a very long time. (or it was just very hard for me)

I love the aesthetic of the game. And on a conceptual level it's quite neat.
I was only a bit disappointed with the conclusion, after guiding the glowy neurons through all sections of the brain and finally into the stem.

It's really cool in that it's confusing as hell, like any brain would be.
I don't have any suggestions on what you could've done with it otherwise, but I wished there were more substance.

Thanks anyway!
