Ah. Whatever I've come down with hit me the hardest this morning, I even had to call off work. I'm sure I'll get better soon, though, thanks.
As for the question asked, this is being made in Game Maker 8.0 Pro.

I'm working through the night.
Finally, I've started assembling an emotional cutscene that I've been planning out for months now. Some samples of the sprites/images:

So amazing!

One quick question, which I apologize if it has been answered:

Have you played Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu on NES?

It has a similar vibe, and the sprites are almost the exact same proportion. I obviously can tell that Kirby is the main inspiration which is awesome, but just wondered if you knew about this other game.

Thank you! No, I have never played that other game, sadly.
I appreciate the comment

Thank you! I appreciate it! Those more vividly colored screens are from the surface of the moon.

There's very little one could actually critique about this, though something in me would like to recommend picking one anime style and going with that.

There's two shots where the characters look Cave Story/Disgaea (simple line eyes, unshaded hair), others that give me a 90's Gunsmith Cats-ish vibe, and one where you seem to have a *real* old-school Heidi style going on.
It's a really nitpicky thing to point out, and I might just be missing a clever meta-joke, but in case you're not set on these images yet, I'd humbly suggest considering it...

I'm not really sure what you mean, Miguelito. Maybe it helps if I explain those screenshots a bit better. The first two on top are from a cutscene, the next one down on the left is the game's shop, the next one is gameplay, cutscene, and then the last three are all gameplay. Some points in the game have faces and things like that in the background, and they're not meant to be taken at face value. The farther along into the game you go, the more surreal the backgrounds can get.

I do my best at making the sprites in gameplay all have the same sort of style, but at the same time, some enemies are meant to look out of place, due to their nature.
