I know a couple, one of which I used to work with. They are both at social gaming studios now. I wonder if the ratio is better in the social realm?

I can name two off the top of my head: Sophie Houlden and Erin Robinson. There are a lot less female game developers than male, but they are definitely out there. |

there are tons, what are you even talking about; didn't you even ever see posts of laura shigihara (supershigi), she posts here all the time
there's also mare of metanet, auriea of tale of tales, bento smile, etc. etc.
and those are just indies; in the industry there are a lot more

Cool, I didn't know that about Centipede.
Also, I didn't know bentosmile was female. I guess on forums I always assume everyone is male unless explicitly noted through posts or avatars. Can't really fault me there statistically haha. That and I thought she was a cat this whole time.

With 1 game engine in 2 years, I think I could barely be called a game designer, but for what it is worth  I'm kind of cheating on both aspects though. This post is just getting more confusing with every word.  |
