just buy it. at 15 euros (if you have all the dlc for the original) it's a no brainer.
I already did haha. I actually didn't have the DLC for dark souls 2 yet so this was a good opportunity to grab the rest of it in one go.

good!
oops i literally can't bring myself to play it. i actually noped out before i even got to majula. everything about dks2 just feels *wrong* at the moment, tho i guess that's going to change a bit once the honeybloodmoon is over.
btw im having a completely different experience with this new bloodborne build. snakesville which was a cakewalk with my str char is extremely hard all of a sudden. so was amelia, because it was much harder to stagger her.

god, I had like the exact opposite problem. snakesville was eaiser with the threaded cane for me because of the whip's reach.
dark souls 2 is like walking in mud, even compared to dark souls 1 and demon souls. I still love the way those games handle, but the way dark souls 2 adds a delay to everything is pukesville.

Bloodborne sounds like the kind of game I'd really enjoy and all my friends are talking about it, but I don't even have a PS4. I should probably get back into Dark Souls anyway.

ftfy god, I had like the exact opposite problem. snakesville was eaiser with the threaded cane for me because of the whip's reach. my whip keeps getting stuck in trees tho. its r1 combo is so weird. like im standing in front of a snakeball with a tree to my left. the first hit hits the snakeball and staggers it but the 2nd hit bounces off of the tree giving the snakeball a chance to attack me. i also managed to get killed twice by those projectile shooting ayy lmaos who werent a problem at all for me last playthrough. WAT HAPPEN??

takes 2long when ur fighting multiple and doesnt have enough range (the cane doesnt have a charge attack in whip mode)
i got through it by learning not to fight close to trees and other obstructing scenery lol. i never used whips much in previous souls games so this is kind of a learning experience for me haha.

using whip mode. ever. why would you do that?
just hold r2 and stab a guy. the snakes are incredibly slow, even if there are 5 of them, you still have ample time to back up and charge attack. or, even better, dont pull multiple snakes. you can sneak up on a lot of them. if you have to fight more than one, its usually just 2, and back up stab still applies.

but its so slow and does very little damage compared to other weapons with that range/crowd control.
its useful for those snake head fuckers though. their range is unbelievable.

but it has much better skl scaling than any of those weapons (welp except ludwig's but i dont want to use that AGAIN). oh and it also allows u to use a gun simultaneously which is the focus of my build.
btw its interesting having your gun actually do damage. its not even as cheesy as i thought (though still somewhat obv). im also parrying a lot more now. im hypothesizing that using blood vial runes is actually preferable to QSB runes for conserving ammo, but i don't have both types of runes yet so can't test.

How do I use runes? Do I need to unlock something that I don't have yet? (I just beat the shadows of yharnam)

i want to talk about the lore for a bit: so as far as i understand the blue aliens or "celestial beings" are not actually aliens? i mean as we see iosefka "creates" them in her clinic and we meet them in the upper cathedral ward so im guessing theyre actually artificial life forms created by the choir? and the insight sucking babby cthulhus/mindflayers you fight are just people with more eldritch wisdom than they could handle, or at least thats what i read. also the great ones might not be aliens either, theyre just mortal (and potentially earthly) beings who became extremely powerful and "ascended" to other planes of existence, similar to the lords in dark souls. i think what is called "the cosmos" in this game might actually be different dream planes? idk this is all very confusing giorgiotsoukalos.jpg

there's a room right after that boss fight where you find the tool you need to equip the runes.
