Hello everyone,

We are Sparkling Vinegar, lately we released Dead End ( a grindhouse runner ) with our friend from Flying Oak Games.
But we will show you here the dev log of ROCKET who was our first game, but who finally wasn’t it.
It’s a 1 year and half project who was in stand by, but it is back now !

THE PLOT :

You are at the head of the Secret Spacial base of USSR. You will have develop the ROCKETS of Mother Russia to go faster and farther than everyone else.
All the country will be behind you…only if you succeed of course! If not you will be designated as a traitor of the nation.
(We don't try to stick to the reality or any true story it's only fiction)

THE CONCEPT :

Rocket is a game constituted of 2 phases.
1 / the core gameplay where you will have to launch the rocket and the satellite in space.
2 / the background gameplay where you will have to research, develop, build and put together all the different parts of your Rocket.

ART DIRECTION :




These were the first artworks of the game




You can mix all different parts of Rockets


Screen menu

We will try to release the game in 2 months and we will show you as much as possible things here. We're very open about any review on it.

This was an old version of a sticker design to promote the game.

We are working on the core-gaming at the moment, hope to show you some gameplay preview soon.

Stuff happening in Russia is always fun. Will there be accents? I rather like the art style, and that third rocket definitely screams zeerust- especially on the fins.

How about turning the R insread of K? To make it look like ЯOCKET? The fact is that "Я" is a real letter in cyrillic alphabet.

Our Mini-game for the Dog:



It's like a very easy Dance Dance Revolution with only 2 buttons.

15 sec to do a combo of 10, easy to understand.

Hello,

I will try to answer you:
The launching is the "core gameplay", it will be divide en 5 parts.

1A/ Start the engine:
>>> tap on the scratch as much as you can until the countdown of 5 is over.
1B/ The screen freeze for a sec and you have to cut the rope who keep the rocket on the floor.

2/piloting (keep the rocket always in the middle of the screen):
>>>tap on the left or on the right of the screen to keep the rocket in the middle of the screen. But be careful with the wind !

3/splitting
>>> you will have to finish the mini game before the 15sec are done. Each Rocket's middle part has his own mini-game. Above you've got the example of the "Dog" mini game. (yes each mini game has his character)

4/piloting and splitting (keep the rocket straight and split the last part of the rocket):
>>>same gameplay than the first piloting but you will have to tap a multiple time on the middle part to remove it in the same time.

5/launch the satellite :
>>>it's pretty much like "

" but you only have one chance.

After that, you will have a Review of your launching, and you will receive more money if it's a massive success.

The money will help you to do some research, build new parts, and build rockets.

Don't tell me the loop doesn't work properly, I know that  Grin (different frames per loops) but it's a little something.
We 're trying to get a prototype at the end of the week  Screamy
