I don't know why but it's by far my favorite pixel art program and it's not even stand alone.
Specifically the one in GM8 though, studio takes too long to load so I never care to use that one.

Yeah. I use GM8 to pixel even for fun. One of the many reasons I'll still boot up GM8 even though I'm not developing anything right now.

they ruined ms paint. Before it was the best program.
Seriosly, are there any editor that allows you to resze image just dragging borders? Or just moving stuff without ctrl c and ctrl v.

I liked it, too, until I used Pyxel Edit http://pyxeledit.com/. I think I heard about it on Beau Blyth's blog (Samurai Gunn, Hyper Light Drifter).

It's still in beta, but more functional than GM's tool already.

I used to do all my works on it, but changed to graphicsGale after I discovered that. Being able to use layers is really useful.

Game maker's image editor is the best on the market IMO but it's still very much terrible.

Why can't we have a proper pixel art program with layers and an animation pipeline that WORKS!?

You NEED to try graphicsGale man, it is THE BEST free pixel art program with layer, onion skins, animations and pretty much everything.
