Really enjoy your minimal style, the cave mouth looks especially good!

Mobile will use swipe gestures to control the character. The pc/mac desktop version will use the keyboard arrows or WASD keys, though the movement will be more like a chess piece on a grid and less like zelda. I intentionally want this to be a slightly slower experience.

Looks really cool. As everyone else said, the minimalism works really well.

Speaking of minimalism, your tiny house is really cool... Yeah I was checking twitter to see if you had more art and saw that. Always wanted to do that but I just have too much shit.

Living in 84 square feet has been a  trip for sure, but I love it so far. And not paying rent for the past nine months has been great!

That's an awesome read. Theres very little documented about the end to end process for people that are interested in this, so that's super cool you put all that down. Pretty crazy to just move across the country to Spur TX for that, but its also really fucking cool. I'm about 4 hours away in Fort Worth TX (TX is so huge). Now I want to build a tiny house in Spur... Start a developer community of tiny homes to combat our natural ability to become a hermit during development haha...

Anyways... back on topic. Thanks for sharing.

It's a very peaceful place here, great for staying focused. Never thought I'd land in Texas, but I'm really digging it. If you're ever passing through give a holler.

Mobile will use swipe gestures to control the character.

only swipe? without a virtual joystick?
swipe is not always convenient ...

Sorry, yes, swipe only for mobile. That's the way I believe the game will be played best on that platform. And to be honest, I would be very curious when in what situation a swipe gesture would be inconvenient. Please enlighten...

Yeah! That's kind of what we are going for here soon. Already built a bed into our car for a start. Been reading Henry David Thoreau - Walden and am ready to roll!
Thanks for sharing! And nice art style on the game! Love the mock-up!

Good luck with the game.  I almost get a bit of a Don't Starve feel from the screens and mock-ups?   If so that is a fantastic inspiration to use.

Using Vector graphics is great as it gives you that nice ability to easily adjust appearance using parameters from code.  I did it on a Ludum Dare compo once and it saved plenty of time over pixel graphics (for me at least).  It's a different type of game, but Rimworld uses Vector graphics well in this way.

I read your blog on your new house, very interesting read.  The peace and quiet while coding must be fantastic and sitting around a firepit after a long day at the desk sounds great. I couldn't get a feel of the overall layout of the house interior though.  Maybe that's deliberate, if so no problems.

Inspired by house of leaves? Fascinating...

The way you animate that character is also... ... ...fascinating!...

Looks neat, I like the idea of wondering around in the world, stumbling on all sorts of interesting locations and creatures. Is there any other level to the gameplay, or is it 'just' moving around the maze-like world?
