Bombie Zombie is a game I made in a couple weeks just to see what a zombie game with only landmines would be like.  Most of the stuff you need to know is included in the readme, but I'll copy and paste just for kicks:

Controls:
Z - Jump
X - Lay landmine
Press Z in the air at the right time to dive
Press Z super fast if you are getting attacked by a zombie (You'll turn red when being attacked)

Basic info:
Waddle back and forth, laying land mines and killing as many zombies with them as possible, while trying not to get damaged by them yourself. Grab the falling color changing squares to get upgrades.

Blue: Extra mine
Red: Extra bombs
Yellow: Extra health

Bombs are pieces of shrapnel that fly out of mines and explode to cause even more damage!

Watch out for "disasters". Each one has some way to tell its happening in time to avoid getting damaged, so pay attention!

Sound effects made with sfxr

And in case anyone is wondering, I did do those loverly graphics myself.  Hand Metal Right

Incredible game. Can't find anything to nitpick about it so far.  Gentleman

The diving mechanic adds so much to the game, brilliant.

Ok one nitpick: The giant charging zombies don't count as disasters?

Nitpick#2: It reallly sucks how you can't avoid being damaged by the UFO...and I don't think bombs kill it either. I figured out how to avoid the UFO.

I'm not sure about the giant zombies not being counted as disasters, the stat counter is a little buggy if I remember so it might not have counted it.  And on the topic of the UFO, it's possible to kill it, if you very lucky.  Grin

Just found a super rare bug - I dove right in front of a zombie (I was diving in the same direction the zombie was running in) and he grabbed me, but I stayed white. I was not able to shake him off. While I was white, I was not being damaged, but then another (then another) one joined in and I turned red and started taking damage. I still was unable to shake any off, probably due to the first one.
-Ok maybe it wasn't super rare after all - happened again but this time on a non-diving jump. Luckily a flying bomb freed me from that one.

In one of my best performances (over 6K pts) just as a UFO appeared on the edge of the playfield, my HP started rapidly draining for no reason. The UFO never shot a beam at me, although I suppose I might have been just close enough at one time. I beat a path to the other side of the field away from the UFO, but the HP just kept draining until I died. It seemed to drain at about the same rate as the UFO beam damage.

Yep, I've heard of both of those. But since this was more of a personal, quick game, I never really took the time to fix all the small bugs. Congrats on getting 6K points though, thats more then I've ever gotton!

Oh yeah, I've been working on a second one that's really more of a completely different game then a sequal, I'll take the time to iron that one out.

This is pretty fun.  There's a lot of ways it could be expanded to be a fuller game, so I'm glad to hear that you're working on a followup.  My best score so far is 5418.

5707, and killed by the life draining UFO bug, despite being at 100% health before it showed up.  That seems to only happen at 5,000+ points, could the bug be triggered by that somehow?

Dunno, I'll have to parse over the source and see.  I swear this game has a mind of it's own though.

Okay I think I fixed both the UFO bug and diving and getting grabbed bug. I'm also working on an online highscore.  Beer!

Yet another bug!

If you stand on the very edge of the map, then jump, you'll fall below the ground level. At this point you can't do anything. Sure, the points pile up but since you can't die, it's not really an exploit  Grin

Well that's a new one! I fixed it fairly easy, but I'm suprised I've never heard of it before. I should upload the fixed build soon.
