http://evanbalster.com/crap/glitch104.movBug where every graphic in my engine used the same vertex array with different numbers of vertices. This game made it look cooooool. (apologies for download requirement; I say it's worth it, though...) Wow, impressive. Kept my interest with flying forward, changing shapes, changing colors, seemed to develop throughout. Really cool. Thanks for sharing. Wish there were more music visualizers that looked like that. Indeed, very cool.

This one isn't very interesting but it's still something. I'll see if I can dig up something better though. (do pics from twitter work?)

I am getting closer to achieving proper skinning and animations. However, this early attempt was not a proper skinning and animation.

Awesome thread idea! A bunch of things that were supposed to only shoot a few shots and disappear, but instead did that every frame and never stopped: Not exactly "beautiful", but I mistyped the size parameter of the penguins: I was trying to make a blur filter, but accidentally set it to additive blending (I kept it afterwards though, since it was so unintentionally cool): I forgot what I was trying to do, but this is another thing I kept because it was cool: I have tons of stuff like this, I'll have to post the rest some other time!

Those are really pretty, Azure. What kind of game is that and is there a place I can read more about it?
I need to start taking screenshots of my own fails too just for this thread. The best I can recall was menu items moving around and shooting projectiles, and even that wasn't my own.

This one is an old one, it ain't beautiful, but is sure as hell freaked me out... I don't really know what I did wrong, I was working on the spell system and made some weird bug. The green-white-red thingies on the right side are monsters - except they became immobile, sparkly, indestructible, started emitting green gas particles and red damage numbers. I... have no idea what the white squares are. They just started floating around the screen, there was nothing in the game that looked or behaved like them. It... was a bit scary Liosan

Hmm, not sure if this really counts as fail. I was debugging/optimizing dithering patterns and only displayed the "dither offset" which lead to this: i.imgur.com/5DAJW.jpg

Zaphos, those shapes would make great asteroids (without the glitches..) I wish I'd taken more screenshots over the years of all the graphical anomalies I've produced (which I'm sure I could never do intentionally). Here's a volume rendering sample where the transfer function and dilation got out of control:

At the time I thought these were pretty screwed up, but everyone else's 3d glitches trump mine by far. Anyway, here they are. Incorrect image used in my particle system. Too many me's! Surface woes... who took a hole punch to my darkness?
