Have you ever thought of turning this into a rhythm game?

I think that would be a sweet idea, though I am no where near being good enough at programming to do that.

I'm a rogue like noob so consider that when I ask this question.
How would I prepare myself in this game, as I see it now I would continue to follow the set path until I was inevitably killed. How does one make decisions to save themselves in a one dimensional rogue like?

Well, technically this is less of a real game than a toy, so the point is to get as far as you can before dying. Whoever gets the furthest wins!
Since you can specialise in a specific stat or upgrade your stats equally, There is a tiny, tiny bit of strategy involved. For instance, if you specialise in a ranged attack, you can hide behind chests and walls to protect yourself from melee only monsters and focus on killing monsters that can hit you first.
I'm a rogue-like noob myself, so I could be labeling this game entirely wrong in the first place...

But in that sense, it is a real "one-dimensional rogue-like". Even the choices are limited. Hehe.

I like the middle one but I think you should shade the side of the eye that's nearest the hood so it looks darker.

Thanks for your reply! Do mean mean like this? Or maybe a bit darker? I've also started adding in the description boxes, which is much harder than I first thought it would be. Here's a gif though - (At the moment, you can see whats through doors... And it doesn't tell you any stats yet... )

Is the game completely turn-based or do you have to decide fast what to do? Love where this is going btw.

It isn't turn based at all. You have to decide, on the fly, what attack is going to be most effective on what enemies depending on what square they are in and what attacks they possess. Also, I've been working on the description portrait of a door. I am trying to give the impression that it is towering over you. Does it look okay?

Hey guys, I'm struggling with a problem right now... I've finally acquired an android phone, the nexus 5, which has software buttons. After scouring the internet for way too long, I haven't found a way to enter 'immersive mode' in GMS (Immersive mode removes the buttons from the screen). Here is a screen shot of my problem: As you can see, the buttons distort the game in all the wrong ways. Do any of you guys know of a workaround? Please?
