I was going to say something about this, but I totally forgot what it was. Oh, that's right - I like how you're doing this devlog, keeping it nice and mysterious. Everyone likes surprises. I want to do mine more like you and the "The Archer" developer Gabriel Verdon, and basically have more simple status updates, and leave the bombshells for being spaced out. The game looks great, by the way. Hats off. Hats off CUBED. I already fixed that once; I'm not fixing it again.

So, what are the applications for webbing? Like, can we swing on them? Walk on them like tightropes? Attach web to other web? Also, is web always launched diagonally up? Have you considered a mouse pointer? (I know some people don't like that in 2d platformers like Noitu Love 2/Abuse - I think they're inane but whatever). Anyway, the game looks awesome, though I'm not sold on the tummy cross.
I think you will be disappointed. The web is not very useful at the moment. And I'm not big on the idea of using the mouse even though it opens up a lot of interesting mechanics. I just think it would take away some of the ambiance the game has so far.

I think implementing things like that would also be hugely difficult to balance and bugtest, so it's probably the right decision for your project.

I how all of this looks. A bit of a bummer that webs wont play a major role within the game mechanics. I would easily see the lil spider using those to swing over chasm, or to restric enemies' movement. You would attach one end to the foe and one to the walls/ceiling, so that she would only be able to move as far as the rope extends.
But yeah, game looks amazing, so creepy but cute at the same time. I <3 it!

This game is very cool! Original idea, well done Mr Dumle!
As for a name, i think Spider and friends sounds kinda good as it is, but if you want another name then how about relate the name to the cute character you are playing, because i find that character very unique..

Great visuals! I love the silk implementation.
I like the name too, maybe "Spidey and friends" would contribute to the main characters cuteness. Afaik the nickname is also common for spiderman, but I think there is no trademark.
