Now I can scratch "get featured on tigsource" off my list of life's goals. Next up: Get featured in Time Magazine. Hm.

Again? You were already featured in that old rag last year.

I guess I could get interviewed on Fox News. :/

Psh. Fox News is old. Try the Daily Show.

Kind of old, but I like LiquidWars (win, mac, linux).  I don't think age should stop you, editors; getting off the press release treadmill only makes you more indie.

That was featured a while ago, on TIGS 1.0 by me, I think.

Bah, I really need to get off my keister and maintain a some-what bi-monthly posting on TIGSource. Hopefully this topic will remedy that. Maybe getting a stable internet connection would too.  Lips Sealed

These are rather old, but posting them might inspire developers to make similar stuff, which would be awesome.

Nikujin is among the best platformers I've ever played. You have a wide variety of skills that allows you to do some rather spectacular things. And the level design is ingenious.

Tango Strike is an awesome squad based topdown shooter, with sexy retro graphics that make you pee in your pants. It's an excellent game with loads of polish and gameplay value.

I second Nikujin, along with all of the other games that this guy has created.

I actually made a list of all of the games he's made (except for two that I couldn't track down at the time, which I'm pretty sure are called Bebboman and Teppoman)

Shameless linking: http://soldatmovies.blogspot.com/2006/11/ikki.html

Also, Nikujin has a great obstacle course that includes a timer. It would be awesome to set up some sort of contest for who can get the fastest time. My personal best is 59 seconds, so that would be great for me Tongue

It's lost some of its lustre since it was initially introduced, but Meteor 2 spends a crazy amount of time making a coherent and semi-real world that you can then shoot up at your will.

So I can use this topic to shamelessly advertise my own games? In that case, I say Atomic Arena 2.

I think everyone eventually should play C-Dogs sometime in their lives.
Even more so now that someone is porting/has ported it to Linux/Mac here along with some tentative links to a DS port.

Original game site here (click on older archive)
This site also has a pack of player-made campaigns, check out the Zombie one, pretty sweet.

C-Dogs! totally one of my favorite games. When I was in high school me and my brothers used to play this all the time (multilayer same keyboard) it was a blast!

I've always secretly wanted to remake it in my own image. :D

I've heard a lot about C-Dogs in the last two years and been told that my own game is very similar to it, but have never played it.

Might as well fire it up on my Mac.

Well, I'm new here so I guess I'd pimp mine(co developed by me and AAP) . I hope it's okay.

Marvelous Twilight

A 2 player manic-shooter in the likes of Strikers 1945, Dodon Patchi and a cute-em-up from the likes of Parodius and Harmful Park.

Gameplay:

This game uses an original RFG system.  (R)apid (F)ire (G)rowth.  This system
does not rely on power-ups that you can get by killing enemies. Instead you power up
your fire power by continously pressing the fire key.  The RFG meter will slowly
go up when you press the fire button.  As the meter levels up, your fire power will       increase.  Stop firing and your meter goes back to zero.
Once you RFG meter reaches level 6, the RFG gauge will blink and your character
will fire either the wave beam (Rhemi) or the Homing missiles(Teija).  Having a full
RFG meter would allow you to fire your special shots:
        Rhemi:
"Jelly deflector". This acts as a shield and stops the enemies' bullets.
It also deflects bullets to the enemies and damages them 3 times the
original bullet energy. This also acts as a score multiplier.
        Teija:
"Borken laser". This is a fast homing laser that damages enemies
continously until the enemy dies or the laser looses energy. Also acts
as a score multiplier.  Destroys all active bullets on screen at an
          instant for defensive puposes.

Nobody around here seems to have heard of Zeux's World.  It's a tight little platformer, though I don't have any screenshots at the second.

You can also check out some of the other stuff by the game's creator.  They're all pretty tight.

Found this here.
4Four was alright, so I guess I'll check this out.

EDIT: Tried it, at it doesn't get past the first black screen before it crashes, and then Windows shuts it down because it's 'dangerous'... or something...  Cry

It's at least a year old, but I'm not sure if you ever covered Inyou Douji Monogatari by MIR, the Ikaruga player. It's a really clever puzzle/platformer and there are a couple of demonstration videos of it on my youtube:

Ooh, that looks nice Mr Peckerston. Like how the puzzles are kinda' reversed for the other character. Clever touch, that.
