i don't think the linework is bad at all. i like it.
i guess all of these palettes could be really good in the right context
i just think 3 stands best on its own. it has warm and cool spots. it's not so monotone.
THAT BEING SAID LIKE YO you really should get your monitor calibrated. use an ithing at full brightness to compare/tweak to if you have one. their screens usually have really accurate color.
I didn't really have a context in mind, this was more or less a morning doodle on MS Paint. I don't often save my doodles but this one was kinda neat and thought I'd ask you guys about the colors. I'm going to mess around with the colors a bit though, and try making it look less monochrome. And my computer refuses to be calibrated. It's a really old tablet PC, and it won't hook up to external monitors either. :x It's kinda fun not knowing what colors your'e using though....  Oh and there's this picture too, I changed up the lips and hair a bit.  |

Oooh that's really interesting looking, I love it's form and the texture of it's shell(exoskeleton??). The lighting is sweet too, the highlights and shinies really make it look... shiny. |

Was originally going to put the 2000x2000 png here but i'm not that crazy That looks really awesome Cell. I think the vague detail in your painted illustrations give them a more fantastical feeling. You draw out odd figures and leave the viewer with one or two details that work against the rest of the picture's initial concept. This looks like some sort of yeti/bear-man. The fact that it has a big circle for an eye makes me think it's a forest golem of sorts. Of course I could be the only person that views it that way. |

i draw it abstract and obscure as a style choice but details as perspective and correct light as well as making it actually read while still being open to interpretation is stuff i'm working on and can't be just showed under the carpet because it's a "style choice".
Hopefully i'll be doing stuff like @jackwhat (awesome mantis by the way, love insectoid designs), which works technically and as art; but just in my own style.
