I have really crappy computers in my Computer Engineering class. I really wish to show my mates how great some indie games are, but not many run on them. Cave Story, and N+ are the only ones that I know of that will work. You guys now of any other awesome games?

I like Madness Interactive, even if it is a bit hard and underground even in indie circles, which is Flash so I think it'd work. N+ works? Why doesn't regular N work? I didn't even know N+ was for Windows.

Nikujin and other Ikiki games would probably work, too.

Completely forgot about Ikiki games, good suggestion. I thought I saw N+, could be wrong though and I assumed.

Could try Karoshi. I did try Skullpogo and said a dll (Wbem I think) wasn't there.

How 'bout Lyle in Cube Sector?  I can't imagine that'd have many issues on a 2000 machine...  Though I could be wrong.

Game maker games may work, and I've run Dwarf Fortress on my ME (95+2000), but it is noticably slower then on newer machines.

I am pretty sure it would due to my experience in using it under Windows 98. Battle for Wesnoth and DoomRL worked fine on 98 as well.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

If you have Windows 2000, you could probably copy over any DLL's that aren't in Windows 2000 but are in Windows XP/Vista to make some games work.

I suggest Knytt and Knytt Stories.
They runs great on my pentium 3 800Mhz with windows 2000. =)
I can play also with a lot of other games.

Some stuff from my own folder:
Art of Theft (Or any AGS game)
ROM CHECK FAIL
Gamemaker stuff should generally run, though probably slowly.
A few of the Demakes Compo titles like Dysaster, MoTM, etc.
Progress Quest Cheesy

Or just browse TIGdb a bit, you're certain to uncover something.
