Oh yeh, don't do that. Give yourself like 10 minutes in the morning to check, then concentrate on making games for the rest of the day. Otherwise before you know it you'll be a level 10 with no good games to your name. As for me, this week I'm working on another project, but I'll be back on moonman next week!

Update: Added damage types (slash/mine/blunt/chop), so e.g., an axe has a chop of 8 and a blunt of 2, so is good at chopping down trees (because the wood block has a chop damage type). Started working on the sounds, spent ages looking at different sound libraries online, indiesfx.co.uk didn't look too bad, but I ended just getting a couple from freesound. I added place and break block sounds, and tomorrow will add the weapon-block interaction sounds, and hopefully the remaining few sounds (land, pickup, change item). Also I might have a new music guy, so that's nice.

I don't noticed the difference that the sound effects make until play Minecraft without sound. Also, MM should have some cosmic sounds, should't? Also I might have a new music guy, so that's nice.
Can't wait to listen to some Moon soundtrack.

Wait, yeah! His legs have the shadows in the wrong places. It's like his legs are backwards...

Thx for the comments! @hm, yeh I'm trying a different technique for the palette, most everything that isn't moonman is opposite green in the colour wheel. I also spent time making the values of the different elements distinct, it may still need more tweaking.. moonman is standing very oddly in that first picture.
Nice spotting, yeh, that's not a feature. O_O

Yeah, but, fortunately that's not a feature. O_O

Update: Fixed an annoying physics bug, did a big clean up, and uploaded Moonman 0.1 (windows version). So, this is an early build, and I'm releasing it primarily to see which machines it works on. I've disabled lighting by default, but you can press L to turn it back on. Please report any issues you have, the log.txt file may contain error messages etc. I've also enabled god_mode by default, which gives you the super_pickaxe, good for quick editing, but be sure to try out the other mining tools too. They vary in their strength, mining type, and sound. Edit mode 'e': allows you to paint the world. Left click a block in the top-left to choose it and left-click on world to paint it. Right-click is a block picker. Pressing 'q' spawns a cat. Download Moonman 0.1 (Windows) Note: I get a weird warning about the zip when I download it in chrome, but it still works.Update: Shader Issues? Try enable_shaders = false in settings.cfg.
Moonman ------- developer: ben porter web: http://moonman.io version: 0.01 (alpha) date: 03/08/2012
info ---- This version is heavily under development and contains a lot of missing features and random bugs. enjoy!
If moonman.exe doesn't work, then you may need to run vcredist_x86.exe first, this will install the microsoft support libraries
The game automatically loads the world from save.dat on startup, and saves to it on exit. if the file is missing it will create another world.
Edit settings.cfg to change startup resolution, etc. Set god_mode=true to allow edit mode and get all blocks.
controls -------- ASD,arrows: move space: jump left-click: mine block right-click: place block (if holding a block) 1,2,3,...,9,0: select item from hotbar i: open inventory z/Z: zoom out/zoom in alt+enter: toggle fullscreen L: enable/disable lighting f10: save world (also saves on exit)
debug controls -------------- f1: show cpu stats e: toggle edit mode in edit mode ------------ choose block from palette up top left-click: place right-click: select block under cursor wasd/arrows: move camera
Known important bugs -------------------- * Jumping onto sloped ground may cause physics issues
