Hey guys we have a very small VR experience for you to run around and see how you feel.  This is not a demo and everything is clearly early but your feedback is appreciated and have fun running around!

This was built for the DK2 specifically and has been untested on DK1.  Sorry you DK1 guys but the experience would be too different for your feedback to be directly helpful to us.

STRAFE will ship with granular controls for the player to control their VR experience but if you have a DK2 and are willing to provide us with some feedback on our early controls it would help us save a lot of time in development.

Controls
  - Tab toggles on the super placeholder VR settings screen.
  - WASD + Mouse for player control
  - Mouse 1 for Primary fire
  - Mouse 2 for Secondary fire
  - Space to jump
  - E to interact with barrels/computers ect

This is not a feature in the game but for testing purposes keys
1/2/3 will pick your weapon.

Hey, I saw in the KS comments that you guys aren't doing Steam Greenlight right now because it might hurt the game in the long run? I'm curious to know why you feel that way.

Anyway, the goal still seems possible. Hope you guys make it!

YOU KIDNAPPED OUR LEAD PROGRAMMER AND HELD HIM AT GUNPOINT UNTIL HE RELEASED A BROKEN STRAFE® BUILD.

WE PULLED OUT A RAILGUN AND EXPLODED YOUR SKULL IN SELF DEFENSE.

AND THEN RELEASED A BROKEN STRAFE® BUILD AFTER JUST TO SPITE YOU.

So here it is, world. A small sign of things to come for STRAFE®. The SPEED RUN with high score tracking!

That means it’s pre-Alpha, BROKEN and not representative of the final game. It was custom built in days to get into the hands of streamers. The overwhelming positive response encouraged us to release it to the public. BUT this is A TINY FRACTION and modified version of STRAFE® that lacks most final features likes:

    Custom options (inverted mouse, FOV/visor/gun sliders, etc)
    Procedural level generation
    Finished enemy AI and pathfinding
    Secrets
    A ton of things, you get the idea

We love what we’ve seen. But unfortunately it might not run on your particular computer right now. It might have major bugs, like enemies literally dancing for death. It might begin WWIII after your computer is mistaken on radar for a nuclear warhead. And if you don’t remember Doom’s elevator lifts, you might get stuck and not know how to move forward. Press E toward the ground, damn it.

If it works, great, see if you can beat the streamers’ speed run times! Just don’t be an asshole and cheat.

Enjoy. Get excited, but please realize we initially didn’t want people to play it until it was perfect. Remember this is just the beginning. We’re excited to build on this and complete STRAFE® in the most amazing way.

It ran super shitty on my computer, lol, but I liked it.  I couldn't get very far, at points it was running at like 1 fps, so I couldn't do much and just got killed.  The guns feel really satisfying, especially the sound effects.  As long as the final version runs well, I'll totally buy it.

Come now, a developer with a demo of his own should surely understand that an early prototype is not representative of the final product. Particularly after several paragraphs of disclaimers. Will assume you're being sarcastic...
