Hi everyone,

I'd like to share some video of gameplay from our current work in progress. It's a 2D Platfomer called Antipole. It features high speed action with gameplay based around manipulating gravity. It's an XNA game, currently aiming for an Xbox Indie release in a few months.

Just looking for some initial reactions here.

I've heard that before... This has been in the works since the summer though, before VVVVVV. It plays rather differently, as you flip gravity for short periods of time. You can flip gravity at any time (including mid jump).

I love both Metal Storm and VVVVVV, so I'll probably like this. I also like the snazzy Michael-Jackson-like protagonist. Any Moonwalker jokes planned?

I was weirded out by the scrolling stars through the window.

Looks more like a cracka pimp than MJ.
Also, you won't escape the vvvvvvv comparisons, so get ready for it.
The character style is interesting but most of the backgrounds and tiles are blaargh.

I hadn't made the MJ connection until it was mentioned here.

I realize I won't escape the vvvvvv comparisons. The day that game came out, I had about half a dozen people send me a link to it and say "This is like your game." Oh well.

We've spent most of the art time tweaking the character to animate him smoothly. The backgrounds & tiles still need more work. We're trying out different ideas on that.
