Wow, this was totally unexpected. And sweet.

Congrats on finishing the game. That must be a sweet feeling.

Derek: That's a gummi fetish. Don't google it up. Seriously.

I think I see some orange ones, but it's hard with the light filtering through the others.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you.

I think the orange ones come from the interracial breeding... Yellow+Red+light green= an orange-ish colour, I presume?

Will the Mac version come out at the same time, or will I be forced to sit in my shower, sobbing and scrubbing the filth off my skin with fine-grit sandpaper?

Too bad $30 is out of my budget right now.  Cry

I guess I'll have to resort to making a low budget knockoff.  Seaquaria, anyone?

I'd call it "Uh-quaria".

Now taking bets on review titled "Dawn of the Age of Aquaria" or some variation on that theme appearing within a week of release.

Shhh, where would you get that idea?!  Shocked

The Xion screams a defening yelp of elation and peers wide-eyed into the heartful fathoms of the deep, waiting, impatiently but in fervent dedication, for the release from its bondage of its creators and unto the masses - the One Game to Rule Them All.

It would be strange for it not to be, considering it's being released now when Vistas are starting to pop up everywhere.

It has been known to run on Vista. I'm not sure to what extend, my girlfriend tested it for me. It was quite playable, but the frame rate wasn't full 60. I'm not sure if this is because of her video card, or because of Vista's OpenGL support.

From what I heard the OpenGL support was getting better, but I don't have any hard data on it. (I think newer drivers have better support than previously?)

If not, the only real way to improve the performance would be to port it to DirectX.

on vista/opengl:
"According to a Microsoft blog, there are three choices for OpenGL implementation on Vista. An application can use the default implementation, which translates OpenGL calls into the Direct3D API and is frozen at OpenGL version 1.4, or an application can use an Installable Client Driver (ICD), which comes in two flavors: legacy and Vista-compatible. A legacy ICD, the kind already provided by independent hardware vendors targeting Windows XP, disable the Desktop Window Manager. A Vista-compatible ICD takes advantage of a new API, and is fully compatible with the Desktop Window Manager. At least two primary vendors, ATI and NVIDIA, are expected to provide full Vista-compatible ICDs in the near future."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista

Getting the latest drivers will be a must. (altho it almost always is anyways)

I'm not sure if any settings have to be changed / whatnot. (I remember hearing early reports that Aero had to be disabled or was automatically disabled when running OpenGL applications in Windowed mode. Curious if that's still true in some cases or if its been fixed.)

And here's a story with lots of Tech details.

Does anyone know of any other Vista compatibility issues?

Hmm, looks like I just have another excuse to use my girlfriend's laptop :D

I would rather just play it on XP anyways...

I would rather play a lot of stuff on XP actually  Lips Sealed

Well if you have a chance to run it on Vista, please let us know how it goes. Smiley

It sounds like it should work okay if you have the new drivers.

According to this article:

"1. Windows Vista fully supports hardware accelerated OpenGL;
2. OpenGL applications can benefit from Window Vista's improved graphics resource management;
3. OpenGL performance on Windows Vista is extremely competitive with the performance on Windows XP."

Seriously though, congratulations.
