I know. It still seems a generally reliable rule. Ore could be said to break down. And you should know full well that chests in any fantasy setting obey no laws of euclidean geometry.

so biomes?
I think the deserts are too small and bordered too closely by tree-dense regions but otherwise it all looks pretty damn rad to me.

One thing that struck me in the biomes video is the lack of variety of trees. If you look in reality, different biomes have different trees- some are very wide and short (savannah), some are very tall and thin (arctic forests), etc.
Similarly, we're starting to have cacti and reed, but it would be nice to have newer types of shrubs, flowers, etc. depending on the biome.
Notch, do you plan on expanding on the flora of Minecraft?

Monster spawning and terrain features can be tied to individual biomes, so some biomes could get special trees, or special mobs, or different grass, to make them all more unique. from notch's blog

Guillaume you must understand a simple truth. Everything you think of, Notch has already thought of.
For he is within us all.

Fuck. I should not have bought this game. Fuckity fuckity fuck. There goes my productivity for the year... The amount of time you're wasting will eventually make you realise you've other stuff to do. And you'll work harder at that other stuff than you have before. Creative games are good for the soul.

Tis true. It got me through a creative drought and out the other end, because creating something crazy in minecraft is not terribly hard and is experimental fun.

Does obsidian withstand the impact of the Ghast fireballs? If so it might be the only viable construction material to create a permanent shelter in the Slip.
