For examples of my musical styles, please have a listen here:

Good stuff. I expect great things.  Smiley

Thank you. =) I specialize in melodic original compositions, so could I get a list of required original tracks?

EDIT: I know a menu theme is already being worked on, but at the suggestion of Godsavant, I composed a short loop of what could be a potential menu theme as well, if anyone is interested:

MENU THEME CONCEPT
There can be more than one theme Smiley

Here ya go. I'd recommend playing a few minutes of any game you'd like to write stage music for, just so you can get a feel for what it's about.

Main Menu
Mondo Medicals
The Tower (Mighty Jill Off)- I wasn't impressed by MJO's music, but I only played for a few minutes. New music might be better.
Bird Statue (Untitled Story)- Similar situation to The Tower.

A few stages are from games with ambient music. While the music is great, and fits the games perfectly, it may not work for IB without major reworks.
Crayon Physics Stage
Knytt Garden (Knytt Stories)
Samorost

I love it so far. And it doesn't hurt to have two menu themes, since there are multiple menus.

Ah. Yeah, because I need a free program (besides PXTone) or someone to give me a copy of Finale. Just having 8 staves is killing me.

Javet: Have you tried Musagi?

Here's a tutorial and a

Yes I have, but I need something that is better for writing actual sheet music. Like I said, the only thing that I can do is try to find someone who has Finale.

EDIT: I'm almost done with the song! Just 8 more measures. It may be a drum break.

EDIT: YES! I'M FINALLY DONE! AFTER HOURS OF WORK!

Indie Brawl.zip - 0.26MB

Well, I couldn't fit a percussion or tuba part into the piece due to program limitations. I did however make seperate parts for them. So in this file you're going to here the whole piece withou the percussion, which really brings the piece to life and makes the rest of the parts seem more subdivided. Also, it is done on Finale Notepad, so it sounds incredibly... fake. But here it is. It's pretty short, but it's godo and it did take a while to do.

Indie Brawl Main Theme.MID - 0.02MB

(And yes, I did build off of my other little piece, "Water".)

Nice. You did a fine job given the limitations you had! I feel that it could use a little more melody, but with some tweaking and of course more realistic symphonic instruments, I can imagine this being an epic menu track. =)

On a side note, if Yume Nikki ever gets into IB, I MUST DO A REMIX OF IT. I've recently become so inspired by that game, even though I am unable to run it on my PC for now.
Thanks! Yeah, the percussion is definently necessary. TwiTerror is orchestrating it for me.

Gahhh, Javet. I used a mix of Audacity and Finale Reader to make an MP3 for the past, I dunno, half hour. The MIDI you just posted sounds a lot better, though.

Wait... If you made something then post it. It doesn't matter what it sounds like! We want to hear your work.

No, I mean, I used Finale Reader and Audacity to record your .MUS files and make an MP3 out of them.

I don't think I can do anything with Reader, sadly. Durr...?

If I make something at all, I'll post it without qualms, no worries, but I'm not very confident as a musician (I feel I make better music with my vocal chords than I do with Musagi, and I don't think any of the games we have in IB are fit for a Crash Bandicoot type soundtrack). Shrug

Hello everybody. I'm new here but I'd love to help out with music. My musical style covers a large variety of genres so I can write for many different settings. Smiley I can also do a lot of work with sound effects. Grin

Some of my music is posted here:

Cool. I'm interested to see what you can come up with (especially for sound effects- we don't have any of those, yet).

I can see where you're going, but I have to say that everything in the second half of the song sounds like a discordant jumble that's difficult to listen to. Some stronger melody and an loud underlying beat would definitely help. Right now it sounds like a tacky MS-DOS medieval RTS.

Yeah. CRAP. I forgot to add dynamics... I suck.
EDIT: Once the dynamics are in (it won't sound like their in the Finale file)the orchestrated version, it will be much easier to listen to

Like I said, it will sound much less jumbled when the dynamics are in. I'm still making a few tweaks. But the dynamics... you won't hear them in the Finale file. In the orchestrated version, yes.

EDIT: It's tweaked now. It should sound a little better.

Oh yeah, and Soulliard. Try sxfr by Dr. Petter for soud effects.

Sfxr's good for 8-bit sounds, but that isn't always appropriate. For milestone 1, at least, I'll probably just raid the free sound project.
