i saw the first level (without realizing it's the first) and parts of the egypt level. there weren't THAT few enemies but it didn't have that "holy shit an army of aliens is advancing on me!" feel as the encounter games. to be fair though, i never really played the single player campaign in these games, mostly just custom maps with friends.

Serious Sam 3 looks awesome, I have yet to play the prequels though. I'm currently playing Just Cause 2 and it is fantastic. It's GOTY for me and now it's also one of my favorite games (and I'm just in the second mission!). The weapon switching system is kinda weird, and the graphics aren't very impressive in the PS3, but it's seriously great. Just Cause looks pale compared with this sequel, so Eidos really outdid themselves this time.

Just Cause 2 was released last year, so do you mean GOLY (Game Of Last Year)? I finally got around to playing Skyrim. I'm only at the beginning, but it's been pretty fun so far. The interface takes some... getting used to, though. Also been playing NetHack, DoDonPachi, and a bit of Maze of Galious (it's easy to see how La-Mulana was inspired by it), Dead Space, Trine 2, and a whole bunch of other games.

and a bit of Maze of Galious
Played this a few years back and it's great. I second this, especially if you liked La Mulana. Unlike La Mulana, it doesn't resort to obscenely obscure puzzles, only moderately obscure puzzles.

I played rage recently. They are a bit too late with that type of game. Looks like the time for id is over unless they finally stop to stick to their primitive game-design.

Through some small miracle, I got No One Lives Forever to run on my Windows 7 laptop. I've never played it before, but I remembered hearing good things about it when I snatched it at a local thrift shop. If only I had remembered to bring my mouse home for the break....

Lots of Nier. Definitely the best 3D bullet hell action-rpg farming simulator I've ever played. I'm late to the game, but RIP Cavia. Pourin' the rest of this drink out to you . On the side, I've been playing a bit of the bombing run mode in Waves and finding a team in King of Fighters 13.

yeah, cavia makes a legitimately good gam for the first time in their career (drakengard's story and soundtrack were exceptional but the actual gameplay sucked) and goes out of business. shame. also, i just discovered triangle wizard. cool mix between gauntlet, diablo and a roguelike with a heavy focus on magic. it's a bit on the complex side and the graphics can be hard to read occasionally, but once you get the hang of it it's a pretty interesting and enjoyable game.

Wahh? Bullet Witch is legitimately awesome, brah.
How far did you get into Drakengard? I was thinking of giving it a go despite all the horrible things I've heard about it. From what I've seen, it looks like Dynasty Warriors, which yeah I think is complete ass, but could probably tolerate for good presentation everywhere else.
