Lots of stuff going in to Captain Forever Remix this week. We made huge progress in improving enemy ship construction so that there's a ton more variety and randomness. Infinite ships to fight, ya'll! We also made some improvements that ensure that enemy ships are always able to move around relatively well (previously they'd sometimes spawn with too few thrusters, or poorly placed thrusters).

Whoa, I'm blown away by most of these screenshots.

I've mostly been hanging out/posting in the playtesting forum. Do some of you post in both the devlog section and the playtesting section?

That focal blur looks pretty cool. It could use some tweaking, perhaps a full screen dither shader to give it back that retro feel.

Regardless, I'm interested in how this develops!

S U P E R V E R S E

What's new?

- Camera is much more dynamic, zooms out automatically when players are moving and the zoom level depends on the movement speed, allowing players to see more of playfield when moving fast.



- HUD will be redesigned, candidates look like this.



- Vastly improved analog stick controllers support.





- Red lasers are returned to the game. Each player's laser will match it's color (blue, yellow, green...) - this helps locating your spaceship during the game play easier.
 


- Game playfield has been expanded a lot, now you can fly around a lot before you reach the frontiers.



- Finally, there's a rainbow.
