no texture only shading. I render it in 320x240. I have to try different sizes too.

Well good thing they're not here to please you. You can back off the higher-than-thou spiel and just let the dude be. Besides, take a look at Managore's 'Planetarium' and tell me that that's not pixel art, even though it's aliased 3D too: http://managore.itch.io/planetarium

this topic is so large and mostly filled with ~"true pixel art"~ I dont even know if I'd complain about one thing out of 1500 pages being a render, I dont think it means the thread is going to suddenly be filled with not-pixel art. I think its more annoying to see pages start filling up with discussion about it. splitting hairs is more obnoxious clutter in a pixel art thread than one render was. if people want a place to be particular about what is or isn't pixel art, there's always pixeljoint, they will always be down for that there. if people want more "proper pixel art" in this thread post more pixel art i accept it only if you bear same results with 128x128px(or lower) texture.
identical results could be achieved with a 16x16 pixel texture because its just solid colors on a model... whats the point?
BACK ON TOPIC: @roguelove: love the characters conveyed in your portraits. the flaming skeleton is my favorite, super pretty pixels there. different "skins" for pieces of lore the player reads in my game: boss sprite, still tinkering with it so wip character, different style than above

this isn't pixel art in the same manner that paperman isn't drawn doesn't mean that it's not cool, you just need a bit more easing to the begin and end frames of the cycle. it's too choppy

Your designs and artwork as perfect as ever Rakugaki! The perspective on that spaceship is rad as hell.
Are all of these for Jack the Reaper?

Nice work as always RO, is that hand a study or part of a larger piece?

Oh, it's not part of a larger piece or anything, that's the whole thing right there

Rakugaki, I love everything you make. You have such a great handle on lighting and colour.

Looks gorgeous
Because the blurry shadow isn't halfway between the static poses, it looks a bit stuttery. Maybe that's what you were going for though, I dunno.

Some sort of filter maybe? It reminds me of cell shading but obviously there is some effect applied to the edges.

Playing with 3d to make some pixel art.
Blender shader? Nope 3ds max. But it's just some faloff who react to the light intensity. Looks like he has a custom shader to get that particular look actually. You can tell the lighting isn't just baked textures.

I love how the lighting on the head makes it obvious that the 3/4 view came first, that context lends a 3-dimensionality to the side view I can't imagine you'd have come up with otherwise. Great design, you've got a strong grasp on that Japanese aesthetic
