Brainstorming!

Chris Sawyer Teaches Rollercoasters!
That's probably not gonna work out...

My Life With the Thrill Ride Cult!
Mmmmmaybe not...

Theme Crush Park Saga!
That's just asking for a lawsuit...

Boardwalk Business? Fairground Follies? (Wait was that an RCT expansion pack?) Gah, I dunno.

Naming games is hard.  Huh?

This looks amazing, good job so far! :D

Is it not a bit counter intuitive to have the white arrow facing the rear of the building? It seems to make more sense if the white arrow indicated the front in a kind of "this is the action station" way.

I love the dust cloud when it smashes down onto the level ^_^

Ah thanks! There's also a bit of screenshake (it makes everything better!) when it's placed. The white arrow is programmer art and we're already working on a new one that looks better and is more dynamic! We'll probably have a vine of it on twitter in a bit, I'll edit that post with it too.

Edit - Perhaps this fixes the arrow issue? :D

Today is exciting, because we finished adding the first flat ride!

Here's also a vine of it for a bit of a smoother look: https://vine.co/v/MdOV7K1h9pX

Mmk, brainstorming time.

Park synonyms could be; plaza, estate, land, garden, place, square, green
And then amusement synonyms could be; delight, pleasure, uh..
Random theme park words; carousel, carnival, fair, tivoli, roller coasters, rides?
Business words; corporation, company, enterprise, partnership, association

So uhm:
- Carousel Plaza
- Carousel Enterprise
- Enterprise Ride
- Carnival Garden
- Rideland (Inc.)
- Fair Inc.
- Estate Enterprise
- Afternoon Fair
- Carnival Empire
- Carousel Empire
- Carnivalplace
- Tivoli Plaza
- Merry-Go-Global? Merry-Go-Enterprise?
- Vomit Empire
- The Carousel Association
- Tivoli Trade
- The Carnival Cartel
- Carousel Cartel
- Cartel Carnival
- Coasters Monopoly
- uh

EDIT:
- Carousel Circus?
- Carnivalland
- Parkmaking Enterprise
- Amusement Empire

I'm not too good at this

Looking real good.  Amazed by how fast this is coming along.  Just make sure you allow ways to build some nasty rides.  Always had fun making people fly off my coasters!

I second that you must be able to kill people on your rides, it's the best part of games like this :D

It would definitely make a really nice addition if maintaining your rides was actually a bit of a headache and you'd need to balance the demanding crowds with the cost of keeping them safe. Moreso than just coasters running out of track and piling into a mountain, having a teacup fall out of it's saucer or a seatbelt not buckle properly when on one of those big drop things if you're not paying close enough attention to their last checked date.

Maybe two or three hours after the park closes you need to send your guys around to clear things up and oil the rides before they go home, leaving the park ready for the next day. The bigger the park gets, the less they can finish each day making it harder for you to keep guests alive.

I'm loving the progression you're making!

Yeah, we also have some ideas along those lines! We'll see how well it works Smiley

Really appreciating the name brainstorm help, guys Smiley We really got trouble finding something good :/

I suppose you could hop on the bandwagon and simply call it "Theme Park Simulator." Anyway I think the name should probably emphasize rollercoasters and thrillseeking, as opposed to carousels or fairs which are more of small-time things.

Doing death right is tough, because it has to be somewhat unrealistic to work as a game mechanic. If it was realistic, then it would be really annoying because one small slip up would ruin your park's popularity for a long time. Maybe there could be some sort of "safety perception meter" that gradually moves towards "safe," then swings towards "dangerous" every time someone dies. If it was already at "safe," one death would keep you in the safe zone but have a few incidents and it would move into zones that affect the park popularity. Either way it would be cool if that stuff was transparent.
