Redrew something I did a few years back. The hair is probably the most vexing part.

It reminds me of Juni from Knytt stories, for some kind of a reason. (That's a good thing:) )

Haven't tried for the diagonals yet. Thankfully, though, both sprites use very nearly the same head.
