Hahaha, yes! I was such a bad influence on everyone with my cigarettes and my liquid-smooth Geminid influence  Gentleman

I only do it for social reasons or if I'm waay stressed out. Stressed more than usual that is. Like the fifth time Apple rejected my app! I smoked half a pack....and a bowl.

With the recent cold weather, smoking in Finland has become less enjoyable Sad But I still do it.

Nope, I don't smoke. I don't see the point in it and I hate wasting money.

On Monday it will be two weeks since I quit, although I had one last night after dinner to treat myself to a cigarette the way they should be enjoyed; occasionally. It just sucks that they're so darn addictive to the point of needing to smoke them several times a day, otherwise they would be great "once in a while" things.

Best tool in stopping smoking is to convince yourself (by constant - daily auto suggestion), that tobacco is something bad, yuck, awful and that you don't really like it (even if you think you do)...

Goddammit I need a cigarette

You would think that freezing sub-zero temperatures and a hacking, congested cough would cure me of my addiction

But nope

Look at me, I'm even spacing my sentences

really

weird

what's up with that?

I quit over 3 weeks ago and still going strong... Well, sort of. I had my first "exception smoke" after Thanksgiving dinner, and this past weekend I smoked two of them... But I'm feeling okay and not really craving any. Though, last night I had a dream I smoked another one and thought about how satisfying it was, and then though, "Oh no! I'm starting again!" but it was just a dream! Whew!

A friend of mine told me: "Don't ever start smoking, it's a bitch to stop." He then put a cig in his mouth and lit it.

Seeing him fight it, can you blame me for never starting? Shrug

another thing re: cigarette addiction

it's very much a habit (psychological) addiction as well as a physical one.  i've known ex- heroin addicts.. even after they've kicked the physical addiction and are on methadone treatment or whatever, they find themselves craving the needle itself.  not even the drug - just the needle.

the same holds true for cigarette addicts.. there is the nicotine addiction, but deeper than that, there's the association of a certain routine with a certain body response.  the hand reaches into the pocket, takes out the cigarette box, opens it, takes the cigarette with thumb and forefinger, switches the cigarette to the index and middle fingers, places cigarette in mouth, replaces the cigarette packet, reaches back again for the lighter. the head bends down to meet the flame of the lighter, there are a few puffs, a look up, and an exhale.

it's hard to follow so specific a routine, every day, for years, and then simply....stop.

DID YOU HAVE TO BE SO DAMN SPECIFIC?!?!

aha yes I had dreams about smoking too.

Didn't smoke for 3 months. I don't mind during the day, but *some* nicotine would be so good... like.. right now...
