The Line DELAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, LOOK AT THE LAST DEVLOG POST BY ME: The Line(TL for short).

TL is a combination of RTS and Citybuilding, and possibly some RPG elements.
The Line`s basic story rolls around an rather big island wich you and the games AI`s heavily want to control.

At the beginning of the game you are issued with an engineer and a few Frontliners with handguns. From there on you have total control over anything that will be going to happen to your country-from a small village to an empire! thats what i say!

A this first post of the devlog is posted the game is as far as follows:

Project set up on GML(because it easy to learn and has a ****load of great functions, that is if you know what your doing ofc)
Got the first unit(AK)selection and moving done
grass!
Concept document writing started

DO-TO for 0.1

Not done Wip done
  • all units
  • tree code fix& cleanup
  • Gui
  • Some NPC-s
  • Icon and loading picture
  • menu
  • pause screen
  • sounds
  • some buildings
  • prettier messageboxes
  • landscape improvements

Hi again!

Devlog 2

Today some stuff happened, somehow AVG thinks my game is a virus... is there a way to make AVG ignore GM?

but on the happier side: i added a new unit-this time its BAZOOKA!! and a new landscape element wich is water, at this point all the units stop as soon as they hit the shore, but ill still have to work on them getting away as well as currenly some men refuse to move and you`ll have to click multiple times to get them out of there.

heres a screenshot showing the two updates



this evening ill try to plan the GUI on paper and start drawing it tomorrow-i hope

still me!

devlog 3

got a lot done so far today, i was able to ad the first three elemnts of GUI , but somehow when the view moves the GUI lags and whoops into place later on. Gotta work on that.

The water collision is fixed too.

No screenshot atm, will post one if all GUI stuff is in place

By the way, if you take a grass tile image and color it blueish, it's not going to turn into water you know.

Ignoring you 100% and the water tile will be  made a little bit darker and animations will be added as well(I hope)and (how many times do I use that???) a video will be made as soon as at least one enemy is added (or before-thats if I get some force majure).

Devlog 4

It`s been a while, since I posted a proper devlog, so here`s one to fix it.

Recent updates:

  • some gui elements
  • water waves(PIC!)
  • message boxes
  • tree chopping code cleanup

So It´s mostly been background work lately, in a few weeks(maybe days) time I`m hoping on getting all the units added.
Also, before v0.1 can be released the following belongs to my DO-TO list:

1,1-2,1-2 is this working?

Hope , it is, cause ive got some lines in this devlog.

The topic has been left stalling, but the game hasnt and I will do my best to release a first look video or even v0.1 this month.

sorry for the double post, but the stream has now ended!

Overall a great thing, although only 5 people popped in, so i problably wont be doing another one for some time.

But i managed to get started on the sidebar gui, ill let it progress though before a image. and a one unit only control was made as well to make the gui work.

For some reason the soldiers look like bushes, since they're so green.  Might want to do some more work on those.
