I agree, and I strongly urge you to move away from default colors.

Here's a few other options that might give you the feel you want, but aren't so harsh:

It definitely should be a shade of magenta, whatever it turns out being; it's ff00ff right now. The entire point of the game is to convince the player is the villain in the game and, nearer the end, a murderer. I'll try other shades, but to me magenta seems the most fitting color to convey the intended mood.

What about this? Better?

The pink is too close to what most people use for transparency
try something more desaturated.

That's just hair splitting, use whatever color pleases you, I kind of liked the original one myself.

maybe you can use many color schemes. maybe the colour changes during the game in such slow way that one can't see the color changing... at the end it is red or pink and the player is a murderer.

No, the only thing in the game that ever changes is the dialog of the thing you end up killing. Once you've committed the act, the player even stops changing (turns into a ghost and can no longer collect powerups) Even the animations are extremely minimalistic.

Despite the fact that you've killed who seemed to be the antagonist, that player should feel remorse for doing so.

Quite simple but I think for this game idea it's appropriate.

I love your idea Smiley... the description of your concept reminds me a bit of gollum from tolkien...

except we don't life in dull grey city with smooth atmosphere and lighting. I had to TOSS some of my clothes when i was living in belgium, vivid color do not blend well with their color scheme.

I made this a couple of weeks ago and actually have a half working prototype of it in flash but I don't think I'll finish it. So for now I thought it could be fun to post the mockup at least.

Hey all, just found out this great forum recently. wanna share some mockup(the game itself is being develop right now) it called Revenue Rochette

it's mimic the DS dual layer style, but the game itself will be in flash  Smiley
