really sad to hear the new dlc is keeping up with the trend of annoying bullshit. its like theyre trying to make up for ds2's difficulty in the worst way possible

frigid outskirts might actually be the worst area in souls history
There's no 'might' about it.
I've played through every part Dark Souls 1 and 2 multiple times. This area is the only one I have officially said 'fuck it' to and given up on it. Nigh unplayable

i kind of want bloodborne to depart from the souls formula more than what we've seen. it'd be amazing if it was a spinoff with a different focus rather than "souls but with guns and without shields this time"

Only in dark souls could this happen. So cool.  Smiley

So Steam achievements were just enabled for Dark Souls 1.  Here's hoping that it'll be wholly shifted over to Steamworks someday :D

Holy crap! I never thought I'd see the day.

I guess I can finally adjust my Dark Souls review from "fantastic game despite the flaws of GFWL" to "a fantastic game, full stop".

i actually dont feel strongly about it either way because gfwl has never caused problems for me other than making the game crash a few times on startup. but im happy for the people who do have issues.

unless this somehow improves connectivity for me (i basically cant play multiplayer on pc), but i doubt that

There's also the possibility that Steamworks will lead to better connectivity (less "Summon Failed") and maybe better reporting of cheaters (currently it's impossible to report cheaters since GFWL has no admins/support staff anymore).

I think it's more the principle of a Steam game having its own invasive DRM (Ubisoft games with UPlay are the same).

One that makes you pay money to change your screen name.
