Restarted because biomes sort of half-applied to already explored areas of my world and the colours of trees and grass are all weird. ...I don't remember it being so damn hard

So that + minimal shelter + tons more mobs than spawned in previous versions = very difficult new games right now BUT, I'm kind of enjoying it. It's like Minecraft had EZMode removed.

Man, I just find it frustrating to play on anything but peaceful. Mobs scare me.

That's kind of what I like about it. It makes it feel more desert island-y. Cowering underground, listening to spiders spit on my windows. Good times!

It definitely needs way better 3D audio, though. It's fine to hear spiders spitting at my windows, but it's impossible to tell whether they're outside or inside from just the sound. Forget about being able to tell whether a spider is beneath, above, or right behind you... Every night is a nightmare because it always sounds like I'm in immediate danger. I have to take a break about every other day. I'm staying in this mode to hopefully get used to it. I couldn't take too much of FarCry or Ravenholm in one sitting either, though.

Oh man, is that still going on? Not so much the DDoS shit, but the whininess is basically a universal law at this point.

Guh, it's horrible. After the halloween update, people complained that it wasn't good as they thought it would be. They are never satisfied. BACK IN MY DAY WE ONLY GOT UPDATES BIANUALLY OR SOMETHIN'. Whippersnappers.

Well, it was a little underwhelming. A bunch of things got broken and most of the new things don't work right. But ehnn its Alpha right?

I was killed by a creeper and had to start over, on this new save about 20+ skeletons gang raped me at night when a creeper blew up on the OTHER side of a wall I was hiding behind -- no, i'm not exaggerating.
This is sorta brutal.
Going to have this on repeat when I get to hell:

Yeah, I'm a bit underwhelmed by this update too, I'm afraid. All I wanted was health in SMP, minecarts to work, and lava/waterbuckets to work without a server mod.
It feels like he fixed one od the annoying crashes though, which is awesome. The worlds are a lot more interesting, too. It feels like he improved the world generation a bit as well; not so many weird misplaced chunks.
This was definitely a single-player focused patch.

Oh I'm not worried; I know Notch will deliver and I understand it's early. I just let myself get hyped up and excited a bit too much. I still love you, Notch. <3

I also want to make the portals able to teleport players between servers, both on different IPs and just to a different port on the same IP. Has this ever been done in an MMO before? Being able to move your character across servers in-game? Seems like an amazing idea...
