Hey everyone !

After an entire year in the making, we finally released A Man With a Monocle, our adventure/platformer game.

In A Man With A Monocle you follow the story of Henry McAllister, a noble turned traveler in order to discover the secrets of his mysterious monocle and his new friend, a ghost trapped inside and his guide through this journey.

This game features, among other things, an interesting and unpredictable story, some challenging old-school platforming action, a truly moody soundtrack composed by Johan Hargne and many different and interesting locations full of secrets and shortcuts.
The full version also includes a level editor.

I just want to add one thing:In my opinion the demo doesn't do the game justice because it showcases the platforming elements mostly, and since many levels are skipped the story is not well presented, but that was impossible without making a very long demo.

The main focus of the game isn't on the platforming sections, but rather on the story, the mood and atmosphere, things that aren't easy to convey in a demo, so please judge it mildly. Smiley

On a more technical note, the game was written in C++ using SDL.

Your last two links are fucked up

You don't know how much I appreciate the option of choosing an exe or zip file (at least for the demo). I really hate installers, so it's nice to see you go out of the way to provide people with options.

Yeah I know, a lot of people can't stand installers, that's why I put the two options. Smiley
Thanks for letting me know about the links btw, fixed. Grin

Finished the demo and bought the game.
I haven't finished it yet, but from what I've played, like you said, the demo doesn't do the game justice.
I'll give some more feedback after I beat it, but I can already tell this is definitely frontpage material.

This is like Cave Story+Knytt+Mario all put together. This is awesome.  Beer!

Interesting, will there be a mac version?

By the way you may want to look at the website, the video gives an error when you try to play.

There's a mac version planned, though I honestly don't know when we'll start working on it, probably in a few months.

Thanks for the heads up, I took the trailer down while I'm waiting for someone to make a new one since the old one wasn't good enough. Smiley

Finished the game.
The story is one of the best I've seen in a indie game if not the best, and dude that ending. That ending. Just wow.

Well if this doesn't get frontpaged in the coming days I'll write a review myself. Smiley

We just finished up the patch to the version 1.1.

The demo is still outdated, but if you bought the game you can update right away.

There are some significant improvements, mostly based on the feedback we received.

You may download the patch here:

If you haven't bought the game already you can buy it on our site:
amanwithamonocle.neogen2.com

or find it over at GamersGate
