My game made it through although unfortunately I had to send in a prototype which sucks. The final version is much improved.

You can update your game but you can't be 100% sure the judges will get the latest copy. (That doesn't mean they won't do it, you simply just can't be sure )

Yay, my game is up. Don't think we'll win, but Student IGF is free so why not?

They already said they wouldn't enter this year.

There are a lot of games by people I know on there, and it's hard to say this without playing each and every game, so I don't want this to sound too negative, but the entries seem kind of underwhelming to me this year. I.e. there's nothing there that I feel "I definitely want to play/buy that", with the exception of Night Game.
I also wish they required gameplay trailers for each, that way we could get a better impression of what they're like. A screenshot with a description doesn't say much.

Requiring gameplay trailers for entrants is a little tricky to REQUIRE, but we may try to make it an optional link going forward. We're somewhat presuming that people have trailers on their official websites (which are linked) if they want to make them available. Also, we're hoping to get gameplay trailers from all finalists - Indiecade did that this year and I thought it was a good idea. Simon@IGF. PS - I've seen the main competition entries linked here: http://www.igf.com/php-bin/entries2009.php...but I don't think anyone linked the student entries URL: http://www.igf.com/php-bin/entries2009_student.php

I wish with how big the list of entrants is becoming now that there could be a more modern way to navigate the list like most websites these days, a link for each page and one for going all the way back to the beginning or last page.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say absolutely require, but it'd be good to have a list of them to browse or something, since that'd mean 200+ fewer clicks.

Really? Even with Barkley: Shut up and Jam Gaiden? Aether? Mighty Jill Off? Rescue: The Beagles? ...Do I even know you? Dude! Super Banana Nababa! I'm so psyched! Also, Laxius Force is on there...

Barkley:SUaJ:G is pretty good, but it uses ripped graphics and music and is certainly no Aquaria, it's not something I could see winning the IGF. Aether and MJO are short artsy games rather than games focused on creating a longer playable experience. I haven't tried R:Beagles yet.
Of all the entries there that I've played (a good portion of them actually), I think Dyson is the best, so I'll be rooting for that to win. I think The Graveyard should easily win for visuals, too.
